Really interesting project car that I'm sure ChrisP will be able to give more back ground on: https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/24877/lot/612/
Just within my grasp of price shame its an auction car so it will got for more than 10k  Sad one day
For some reason this one has always been my grail - I think it’s because I had so many posters of it as a kid, the fact it was one of three etc. Wonder what it’ll go for - hopefully a good amount over that estimate or I’ll be kicking myself over my purchase...
For some reason I had this one as 5592 / AXI 1699, Matthew Hartes fathers car, but I think I have the two cars interwoven.

Bonhams appear to have set the estimate falsely low for this one. They did the same thing back in 2004 at the Olympia sale when AXI 1697 was sold.

I haven't seen the car in the flesh but I would expect it to go for way over that estimate given that non-Woooler-Hodec RHDs have sold for north of £40k over the past few years.
Shall we have a guess on the selling price? I say £46 K (Hammer price )?

Yes, this one is formerly AXI 1699 Dermot. Its engine number is 5592.
Aha,

this one then

The elusive RHD that I've dreamed of owning... sadly not in the position to bid this time around. It's not had much love in the last 20 years that's for sure, parked in a leaky garage and now it appears to have been outside for some time too. It'll need a lot of work to be worth mid 40s IMO.
All I hope is that it goes to the right owner and it is reunited with the other two AXI cars one day with its original reg number.
I've been trying to buy this car since 2002!

I have a suspicion that an enthusiast might try to secure it privately before it actually goes to auction [Image: thinking.gif]
Yes it will be very interesting, lets hope we are all not bidding against each other! It's a shame that there are not better pictures on the website (or even that the website worked correctly) or some one can go and get some pics of the condition as it is now. Either way I suspect there will be a lot of money to spend on it after the auction.
Be good to see it out and about though.
Chris
They will not allow any viewings before it gets to the auction. It is definitely NOT a runner. They decline to make any comments about gearbox /mechanical /chassis condition........ It is a restoration project. Dodgy

I sincerely hope that whoever buys it...doesn't regret it later. ........but I still like it! Rolleyes
I'll change my guess to £26K ?
Has been sold prior to auction end. Wink
