Thanks Tris, I take that as real complement comming from you.

My attitude to this special car, has been 'conservation' of what was there, rather than wholesale replacement, or tying to get it looking 'like new'.

This car nocked up over 20K miles whilst being driven by senior factory engineers / employees, before being sold off at the BCA liquidation auction in November 82....just a few weeks after JZD's arrest.

It had been 'tinkered and tweaked' by the engineers to maximise its daily drivability.......it has a lot of history, that had always been the major attraction to me.  Rolleyes...now it's time to re-arrange my priorities.

No problem Richard.. Big Grin Will have to nip up to Markeaton Park and find a similar backdrop!
Hope she finds a good home Chris, someone who will appreciate the car and its history
and its special place in DMC lore.

I've recently re-ftted the origanal header tank...I had changed it for an alloy one...but didnt like it.

Just put 6 months road tax on the car....Also it should be eligible for FREE road tax later in the year.

So I'm going to enjoy driving it on dry days....no rush to sell it.

I've not advertised it yet and will review things in the summer. Big Grin

Best news, think you would miss it!
Great news! Let me know when we can take it out for some photos, would be a shame for it to go before that....
Here's one for the scrapbook to go with the car...

Unfortunately John Z's other 'money raising' scheme didn't go too well.......the rest is History......as they say. Blush
I’m so pleased you are keeping her for the time being Chris!
She’s truly at home with you Smile

I hope one day I can make the journey to you in 11477 to get her picture next to AXI 1699.

Tris
Great stuff Tris, it would be great to see you again.....Rich Han.. is also waiting for a similar photo opportunity ..we will have to fix one up sooner rather than later. Big Grin

Best of luck with the sale Chris, it looks great.

Have you got your eye on something else to take its place in the garage?
