This is interesting!
Some of you may have twigged that i'm trying to import a car at the moment.
Whilst trying to lay groundwork with HMRC and get an 'advanced tariff rate' ruling, I came across this;
https://www.tax.service.gov.uk/search-fo...y=delorean
Interestingly, a 'Smokey and the Bandit' flavoured car that I had spotted whilst looking!
Do we know who is bringing this one in?! Anyone want to 'fess up?!
On the plus side this makes a ruling that DMCs are a '9705' commodity and thus deffo fall in the 'collectible' bracket..
Coming soon to a garage near..?!
:-D

Hi, a month or so ago I lost this forum from my Tapatalk app, just got error messages. I removed the forum from the app to see if it was my phone but when I tried to get it back the app couldn't find this forum. So a question for the admins. Is this forum still Tapatalk compatible?

Hi all,
after Covid, associated restrictions, and a change of event by Bicester Heritage scuppered our original plans for a
2021 event, we have revised plans subject to confirmation and final details sorted.
We are now planning on having the event of the weekend of 31 July - 1 August 2021.
The plan, if possible, is to visit Gaydon as previously planned on Saturday 31 July, and still use the Premier Inn at
Bicester as our base for the weekend.
However, we have been invited by Silverstone to be part of their Silverstone Classic Event on Sunday 1 August 2021.
They want to celebrate the DeLorean's 40th anniversary and give us a Club display area, and also let us do a parade
lap of Silverstone Circuit. The cost for this *is* £65 per car and that includes 2 adult passes, Club infield parking, etc.
Now, we know this is expensive, so I have spoken to the Committee, and it has been universally agreed that the Club
will subsidise this to the tune of £20 per DeLorean, so assuming each car has 2 people in it, it will cost you £23.50 for
the Sunday. My previous offer to also subsidise entry to The British Motor Museum at Gaydon stands too.
Please leave it with me to sort things out this week, but I would appreciate feedback from members as to what you think
about taking part in this prestigious event at Silverstone as part of our joint 40th/25th anniversary celebrations.

Certificate of Origin - Can DOC help? |

Hi, speaking to Trans Glob Logistics about importing and they have said:
"In order to prove that the vehicle was made in the UK, we would need some for of proof in the form of a certificate of Origin, which you can get from the British Motor Museum https://www.britishmotormuseum.co.uk/archive/heritage-certificates".
However, upon visiting the BMM website, DeLorean is not a marque that they list!
I have emailed them to see if they can otherwise help at all.
In the absence of that, however, has anyone in the club any experience of finding any such certificate, or does perchance the club 'go into bat' on behalf of members to 'prove' (/certify?) that all DMCs (other than a few really late ones built in the US from parts after the liquidation) were made in the UK?
I see, for reference, that DVLA will take into account a certification from Members' Clubs regarding vehicle registrations (see link below), so I wondered if the Club had similar swing on the 'when it was built' topic..
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk...150920.pdf
Or is there a document somewhere which simply lists VIN numbers and shows where they were built?
Grateful, as ever, for any help or advice!
Cheers,
Ivan.

Looking for a car |

I used to be a member in the early 2000’s and had a look at a few cars for sale at the time , including a very nice one Chris Parnham had for sale. Which I wish I had purchased at the time.
However wife and kids came along and alas I never got round to it.
Kicking myself now as it would have been a fantastic investment!!
Anyway, I’m now in the position of being able to purchase a Delorean.
Does anyone have one for sale? Pretty flexible regarding the specs, but would want one with little or no work required.
Thanks.
Derv.
