  DeLorean wanted, manual, grey interior
Posted by: Jonurry - 29 Jan 2021, 16:17 - Forum: DeLorean Cars or Parts For Sale or Wanted - Replies (15)

Hi all. This is my first time posing on a forum so be gentle with me, I'll probably mess something up so expect this post to finish at a random point and start again in a new post...

Anyhow. I'm on the lookout for a DeLorean (manual, ideally grey interior) and was wondering if any owners are considering selling. I'm in no rush and with the current covid situation I don't feel it is right to go viewing cars at people's houses so it is more a case of anyone who is thinking about it dropping me a line and starting a conversation for when the lockdown is lifted and we might be able to take it further. I'm happy to pay the market value, I'd just rather avoid an auction (I viewed the car that just sold and if I was the new owner I'd be a little peeved), and as I said, I'm in no rush. It's taken a fair while to get to this stage so a bit longer isn't an issue and it is a car for life, to sit next to my Spitfire I've owned for 23 years and drip oil together. I imagine you have a fair few chancers posting but I have spoken to Chris and hopefully if you are a bit suspicious he can set your mind at rest that I'm a genuine buyer.

Cheers, I think I managed to get through the post without messing anything up...

Jon

  Ordering from DeLorean.eu?
Posted by: Rich Hanlon - 26 Jan 2021, 11:20 - Forum: DeLorean Cars or Parts For Sale or Wanted - Replies (6)

Hi all, has anyone ordered anything from Ed at DeLorean.eu since Brexit? I am after a couple of things which DGo don't stock.

There are lots of stories of people getting hit for big import  charges and VAT ( not specifically from Ed but just generally)

BBC News - Brexit parcel price shock: 'I had to pay £30 for a gift'

Just wondering if anyone has had any experiences.

  DMC Unveiled to the World

Yesterday was the 40th anniversary of the the 'first' Production DMC-12 shown to the press.

Tony Swann has posted up a rare video of the moment John DeLorean drove the car out of the factory and around the test track!

Never seen this footage before, for those who didn't see it on Facebook this morning, thought I'd post it here.

Car Mechanic Simulator 2015 & DMC DLC
Posted by: mattjeh - 23 Dec 2020, 23:07 - Forum: General Discussions on the DOC / Car / Company / JZD - Replies (12)

Hi all. So I'm still working on becoming an owner for the first time but in the meantime always looking to increase my general DeLorean knowledge base. I'm much more on the basic end of capable in terms of mechanics so I know I have a lot to learn moving forward.

Does anyone have any experience with the DeLorean DLC for Car Mechanic Simulator 2015? How accurate approximately is it compared to the real thing? Obviously it's just a game and is not the same as getting your hands dirty for real but would it be a real benefit for a starter prospective DeLorean owner?

I've been eying buying it on steam for a while, but today I just noticed it's on 90% sale, so I just spent £1.88 in total for the 2015 game and DMC DLC. I call that a bargain?

So, is it just a game as it's just a game? Or is it actually helpful in learning how to maintain and keep a real DeLorean? If the former, I'll give it a go and drop it after a few hours. If the latter, I'll take it a bit more seriously. It'll just be good to know going into it.

Thanks all.

Well after what can only be described as a pretty sh*tty year, with the global pandeminc,
economic crisis, jobs lost, businesses gone to the wall, events cancelled, etc, lets all hope
for a better 2021 and look forward to celebrating 40 years of the DMC-12 and 25 years of
the DeLorean Owners Club UK.

I'd like to wish you all a safe and peaceful festive season, and send good wishes for the new year.
