This probably isnt a fault, but I was wondering if the folders for DOC members are working, or arent they being used at all?

Anyone got experience of fitting power steering?
Posted by: Guinney1971 - 18 Oct 2006, 12:47 - Forum: Off topic talk, general chat etc - Replies (8)

Hi all,

I've been given a scrap Cavalier 2.0GLi, which amongst having nice things like leccy windows and mirrors and a nice velour interior (which I'm gonna fit in my 1.6L), it also has power steering.

I'm hoping to remove the rack, pump, and ancilliary items, but the GLi has a different lower pulley to run the belt for the PAS.

My Cav, being a 1.6, does not have this belt - I've been told that the early 1.6's like mine were never designed to have PAS fitted hence why they have a different lower pulley.

AFAIK, all the 4cyl Vauxhalls had pretty much the same engine blocks - I've compared the engine castings and mine has the same mounting points for the PAS system as the 2.0. So, do you think it will just be a case of changing the pulley (along with all the other bits) to fit PAS to my car?

This also kinda got me thinking about PAS in the DeLorean, because obviously the RWD/Rear Engine set up would not facilitate this sort of PAS set up.

Any advice gratefully appreciated.

Cheers!

.... have seen the following items available on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Scirocco-gullw ... dZViewItem

These guys have taken a VW Scirocco, and have decided to try to turn it into a BTTF replica, without any of the BTTF parts. Check out the custom gull wing doors.

Check out the amount of stuff on this baby! Not sure about the undercar neon though!

  aircon diagram

I am nearing the final push of my interior refit and would like to get to the bottom of why my driver footwell will only blow cold air.

Does anyone have idea on why I cannot allow heat to this spot?

I would like to check that the vacuum hoses are fitted to the mode switch in the right order. Does anyone have a better diagram to hand than that in the workshop manual?

Hi all

My dad and i have been working on the beast all day and have fixed every job on the MOT faliure list

EXCEPT for the exhaust leak!

We checked it with a stephascope (sp?) and it is blowing like crazy on the left bank -

I guess we will need gaskets? and to remove the exhaust? - any advice on this procedure would be appreciated - i think its a big job - !

  Fuel filler
Posted by: Chris Hawes - 14 Oct 2006, 09:14 - Forum: 2 - Emission / Fuel Systems - Replies (5)

Is there any modification that will allow a fuel filler nossle to be placed in the DeLorean filler neck and allow the full flow of fuel from start to finish to stop spurts and the mess made if you are not super gentle to start and end with?
