Adjustable suspension (air)
#1
Hi all,

Looking for some advice on adjustable suspension - more specifically, systems where you can change the height on demand.
I'm in the process of importing a DeLorean from the US, which has already been lowered to the designed ride height.

Our driveway has a slight peak, where the drive transitions to the drob kerb, then down to the down.

I used to own a 2012 BMW Z4, and when laden with 2 occupants, it would slightly scrape the chassis as it passed over the peak. Obviously I don't want that to happen with the DeLorean!

So... Has anyone installed (or had any experience with) air suspension systems?

I only need to have the front adjustable, and I've seen 2 potential systems available - Air Ride (replacing existing springs entirely), or "Air cups" (that sit atop the existing coilovers).

Both systems are then hooked up to a compressor system (with or without a tank), allowing the front of the car to be raised on the fly. Perfect for passing speed bumps or other undulations.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
