Posted by: Barson - 11 Mar 2007, 15:52 - Forum: DeLorean Cars or Parts For Sale or Wanted - Replies (1)

hello all.

Has anyone got one of those distributor to ECU shielded wires?

The connector on the end of my one decided to crumble when i looked at it. It's also melted on the outer coating at the mid point.

I'm just hunting around here at the moment before I go to vendors here and stateside.

cheers me dears.
Barzo.

I lost an important bolt -- who knows which size it is?
Posted by: Rottbott - 09 Mar 2007, 14:27 - Forum: 1 - Engine - Replies (4)

I recently changed the alternator belt, which involved removing the air-con belt. To make that easier I just took the bracket with the adjusting pulley off entirely. Unfortunately I lost one of the two bolts holding it on (stupid), and then I realised that it also, for some reason, holds on an important cap thing over a hole in the engine. Since I don't want all my engine oil flying out I replaced it with the one remaining bolt, and a wedge of wood at the other end to stop it moving.

Now I need to find another, but I really have no idea what the size of the bolt is, otherwise I'd just buy another from B&Q. Can anyone help me out here? All I know is that the size of the socket I used to remove it was 11mm.

While I'm at it -- what's the point of that cap thing anyway?

  LPG Conversion?
Posted by: NickT - 08 Mar 2007, 14:17 - Forum: 2 - Emission / Fuel Systems - Replies (33)

I personally wouldn't bother but then again I only use mine as a weekend car.

If you want to go ahead with this project I think a nice doughnut tank in the spare wheel well would keep the car looking nice and original. The fuel filler could then be possibly mounted under the bonnet keeping the original lines of the car.

Engineering it so it can be removed at a later date with no trace of installation could retain the value of the car. Talking of which, do the insurers add on a premium for LPG and if so I presume they would want a certified installation certificate.

If they can do a closed loop system then you can always use the D's oxygen sensor.

You could get a spare manifold and have individual injectors machined in them.

I think some one else was going to have thiers done and I gave my spare inlet manifold to them but I have forgotten who it was !
