Posted by: Andrew Perkins - 05 Dec 2020, 20:39 - Forum: Off topic talk, general chat etc - Replies (2)

MY COMPUTER IS STUCK IN CAPS  -
I AM TRYING TO FIND DELOREAN CLUB MEMBERS IN ILLINOIS USA OR SURROUNDING CLOSE STATES
WHY ? - I HAVE BEEN TRAWLING THE USA FOR 6 MONTHS TO FIND A CAR - 99% SEEM TO BE SCAMS
SO I AM TRYING TO FIND A CLUB MEMBER IN THE USA WHO MAYBE SELLING THEIR DELOREAN

ANYBODY ANY IDEAS ?

THE ONLY ONES AVAILABLE ARE THRU DEALERSHIPS - WHICH OBVIOUSLY PUT 20% OR MORE ON FOR THEM SELVES

Hello and looking to view a Delorean (Scotland)
Posted by: carsandbikes - 30 Nov 2020, 13:12 - Forum: New member? Say hello :) - Replies (4)

Hi folks,

Like you all, I have been an avid DMC fan since my youth. Having dreamed of one of these cars for 20 odd years, I am now almost in a position to make a purchase. Probably going to be going down the project road but realise after much reading that I could find myself in a rather expensive rabbit hole. A classic car dealer friend has suggested before even getting serious about buying I should really see one up close and get some expert advice from an owner on the pros and cons of being a delorean keeper.

I am up in Scotland (Dundee), so if there is anyone up North who would be kind enough to let me come and have a look/chat or better still someone who may be prospectively selling? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Best wishes,

James

Hi all, I’m looking to fit a car stereo in 10023, looking for CD, Bluetooth for hands free but compatible with my (I think) stock electric aerial even though I don’t know if it works. Any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks

  The long awaited hunt begins
Posted by: theningiachicken - 01 Nov 2020, 01:11 - Forum: DeLorean Cars or Parts For Sale or Wanted - Replies (2)

Everyone, the time has come  Big Grin

I'm beginning my hunt for my Delorean after many years of ride outs, driving experience, and the many hours spent around these amazing cars and everyone here (special thanks to Claire + Phil Wright and Chris P for those amazing memories over the years).

so im looking for something around 15-20k in the US market (about 13k here luckily  Cool ) built in any year and any interior colour (due to my crazy plan i have cooking) with an auto preferred but manual is fine too.

the only things im avoiding is painted ones and ones that have clearly been hit (small stainless dents are ok).

i have my trusted buyers guide on hand if i come across one myself and im sure people on the DMCtalk forum would be willing to look at cars being privately sold for me if i ask.

anyone got any advice that might be useful for me (i'm not going to rush into anything, i will be referring back here for all your opinions haha)

wish me luck everyone and i'll join the full owners soon

  Whine
Posted by: Steveblackshark - 22 Oct 2020, 16:13 - Forum: 7 - Heating / Air Conditioning - Replies (2)

Since replacing the bonnet release cable there is a low sounding whine constantly, it appears to be loudest when I get my ear to the boot release latch in the luggage compartment. It either changes sound or is masked when the cooling fan kicks in. Could I have dislodged something that might cause this?

Any help gratefully received.

Cheers

Steve

  VIN Number
Posted by: Steveblackshark - 21 Oct 2020, 19:42 - Forum: Forum Updates and Advice - Replies (2)

Hi, looking for some advice please. My VIN number as per the plate is 18 characters long and as such the HMRC car team are struggling as their system only allows for 17 characters. The only 17 character reference I can find is on the US title deed (it omits one of the “T”’) so it looks as though the NOVA will use the Title Deed number going forward. How have other owners managed?
