Water Pump |

Whats the deal with the water pumps. I've not got hold of my new one yet, but I understand some have a bolt on pulley instead of the 'press on' jobbie that mine has. Do you normally buy a new pulley to go with the new pump or take the old one off the old pump?

Was trying to get to my water pump to replace the thermostat, and since my car is a turbo a have to remove the end but from the air inlet to get to the water pump. Some bright spark has used rubber sealant instead of gaskets!! Its really really stuck on, any ideas?

Thanks goes to Dan Shane :-
Performance Cam's .
Well they were reground by a company called GTO engineering. There number is 0118 9401101 and ask for Kevin.
This guy has been playing with PRV's for years and is a wealth of knowledge.
The only other bits needed for a stage 2 are a Volvo Metering head, a Volvo Ignition Dizzy and a good exhaust.

Thanks goes to Dan Shane for the info:-
I used KMI their number is 020 73857138 to refurbish the Metering Heads. For the Stage 2 engines we used the Volvo 260 Head. KMI will supply Capri metering heads speced to the Volvo flow rate for the cost of the refurb, so you dont need to find a metering head.
The Injectors were not changed from standard ones, however the spray pattern was checked.
There was a problem however and that was the Hydrocarbons. It was tricky to get the engine through an MOT but not impossible.
Also with the high lift cams the Tappet gap is Increased.
Dan

keep blowing a fuse |

Evening all,
Just had a nice day of cleaning up Maddie ready for show season.
Just been going over the car to do some maintenance bits. I noticed the right hand side driving lights weren't coming on, nor were the instrument lights etc.
Checked out the fuse's and low and behold she'd blown the 10amp fuse.
Put a new one in and it blow straight away. So.... what could it be? and how should I go about locating the offending device?
Cheers guys,
Stuart
