DeLorean Day at Great British Car Journey Belper. Derbyshire. 29 August 2022
Posted by: Rich H - 28 Jul 2022, 20:02 - Forum: Midlands - Replies (28)

Following on from how successful last years day was, we thought we would like to re-run the day this year and possibly turn it in to an annual event.

I think the August Bank Holiday worked for us and am proposing the 29th August again.

Could we call on your help again to make it another day to remember please.

Best regards,
Jason

  Car wanted for photoshoot
Posted by: Chris Williams - 27 Jul 2022, 17:57 - Forum: Off topic talk, general chat etc - Replies (1)

Dear Chris,

This is Tom Sullivan.
I am the manager of Red Baboon Studios, an all-new automotive photography and videography facility near Banbury.

We are currently in the process of developing more promotional material for our studio.
I am messaging as we would love to shoot a DeLorean at some point in the future.

Here is a look at our new website.
It is currently in development and only works on computer browser at present (mobile site coming soon)...
https://redbaboonstudios.com/Dev%20V2.0b/

The shoot would be completely free, and both us and you would have free use of any images/video captured.
We also have an on-site valet who could assist with cleaning the car.

If you or any member of the DeLorean owners club would be interested, please let me know.

All the best,
Tom

  Inst. Cluster +more elec. fault!
Posted by: matclarke - 20 Jul 2022, 23:21 - Forum: 3 - Electrical - Replies (9)

Hello,
I've finally found the time to put Frenchy back on the road after a 4 yr hibernation in a carcoon.

She started fine and ticked over lovely about two months ago, but recently I needed to replace the fuel pump that stopped turning.
Heard it priming, but then the engine would only run for about 10 seconds.
Occasionally turning key to start caused a "click" (some relay?) and complete power failure, which recovered after some deep breathing downtime!

Frenchy hasn't moved yet, and more recently, even after 2 new accessory and an RPM/fuel relays, the instrument cluster now has no power, and the fuel pump now can't be heard to
prime, so the engine just happily cranks away with no firing!

No fuses blown, incl no.10! Weird...

Any troubleshooting thoughts to point me in the right direction would be sooo helpful please?

(my intention is just to able to drive her out of her carcoon, flatbed her to Chris in Canvey Island for a well deserved thorough going over after her rest!)

Thanks all,
Mat

  AC check over before recharge
Posted by: Mich1958 - 04 Jul 2022, 21:41 - Forum: 7 - Heating / Air Conditioning - Replies (4)

Hi Guy's

Just looking for a few pointers before I try and recommision my AC.

So 1st thing I have no idea how long the system has not been working for, so I had a word with my pet AC guy and he has advised me to do as thorough a visual an inspection as i can manage making sure all the stuff looks like its there, tight, dry and not obviously broken.

Whilst doing so I found this  Confused I,m guessing that the low pressure switch has been bypassed because A the pressure was low or B the switch is stuffed or C something else.

So my guy has advised me to replace the low pressure switch and the dryer accumulater then take it to him and he's going to fill it with nitrogen for a pressure test.

Is there anything else that I may be missing before I change out these parts that may be a Delorean quirk.

Thanks guys

Cheers Mich

NEC Classic Car Show 2022, 2022 AGM Notification.
Posted by: Chris Williams - 29 Jun 2022, 20:32 - Forum: General Discussions on the DOC / Car / Company / JZD - Replies (46)

Hi All
It's that time of year that I'm on the cadge for volunteers for exhibiting cars at the indoor NEC classic cars how in November, There's already a post in the members section and in the last club mag for discount tickets. But as ever I really need cars and people who would be happy to supply a car (or parts of) for display. We are always fortunate to be swamped with visitors who love to admire our cars and it's actually a really good (if long) weekend.
Feel free to contact me off line via PM or email if you prefer not to respond publicly.
The 2022 AGM will also be held on Sunday at 3.15 this will be an abridged version of our AGM due to lack of interest. Feel free to come along or put your ideas/suggestions forward to me.
Thanks in advance
Chris

DeLorean sold today at H&H Auctions, Imperial War Museum Duxford
Posted by: lordivanhoe - 22 Jun 2022, 16:33 - Forum: DeLorean Cars or Parts For Sale or Wanted - Replies (13)

#2457.  Went for £41k. (laughably estimated 25-30!)
Another one (#3170) goes under the hammer on Friday (24th June) at Goodwood.
Will be interesting to see what the difference is, rather hopefully that one's estimated at £60k!!
:-)
Anyone here responsible for either of these?

Holy s**t.
£41k is just the 'hammer price'.  Buyer's premium and VAT on top.. final price to the buyer is what, exactly??!?  :-o
