  Bleeding nightmare!
Posted by: nasher - 10 Jul 2021, 18:56 - Forum: 6 - Brakes / Wheels / Tyres - Replies (8)

Over the past couple of nights, I have changed my stock springs for the "lowered" versions and addressed my brake issue.

The brakes have not felt right and whilst up on axle stands, I noticed the offside front calliper was binding.

I ordered a rebuild kit and new flexible hoses and everything is back together, but I just can't get the fluid to come through whilst bleeding.

My partner and kids can only take so much down, up, down, up.. so had to call it a day tonight.

I have one of those pressurised brake bleed kits and i works great on my Mercedes, but the kit does not fit the DeLorean's brake fluid reservoir

Anyone have an alternative solutions..?

cheers!

How does the PNDR work from the shift cable
Posted by: Darrere - 07 Jul 2021, 23:25 - Forum: 4 - Transmission - Manual & Automatic - Replies (1)

So after a decade or two stood I am trying to get my little baby back together!

Transmission wise I am advised that you can make direction shifts with the cable with the cable when out if the car?

Cable rotates no issue but no forward back movement.

Inside trans us like this, can I make manual changes to check basic P N DR work?

  Early Christmas Present..?
Posted by: lordivanhoe - 29 Jun 2021, 12:06 - Forum: Off topic talk, general chat etc - Replies (9)

Here's one for y'all;

Anyone heard/seen the rumours about new LEGO set 10290, due to be released on September 1st this year (allegedly)..?
A quick search on Google should entertain you!
Happily for me, my birthday is a mere 2 days later.  No prizes for guessing what's on my list!  Big Grin

In (the likely!) case not everyone is quite such a Lego nerd as myself, I recommend going to the official online Lego shop (lego.com) and signing up to their 'VIP' program..  sometimes you can get access to new sets quicker than the general public, so well worth being on board just in case the rumours are true!  Wink

Apologies to anyone who's not a Lego fan for taking up forum space.  For me the love of Lego pre-dates even the love of a DeLorean!!   Tongue

Just in case my nearest and dearest don't see me right, I'm going to start saving up what's left of my pocket money..

Happy shopping, everyone!

https://www.greatbritishcarjourney.com

I have been in discussions with the main man Richard Usher (yes Claire) !   He is a smashing bloke, a true car/ motoring enthusiast.

He is keen to get a few Deloreans over on the bank holiday Monday, 30th Aug. It will be free to all DeLorean Drivers and Guests.  We will have a special place to park and full access to all the facilities.

Its great place to visit...cramed full of interesting and rare British cars.  Ive been up there today in MGJ....Sorry I forgot my phone/camera!!!

Please book via me and I will sort it out....the more the merrier.  Big Grin ( I'll see if I can blag a few extra spaces for owners who cars are currently not running) Dodgy

V55/5 Form - any guidance on filling in?
Posted by: lordivanhoe - 15 Jun 2021, 12:58 - Forum: Members Cars - Replies (4)

So.. good news - Bessie is now freshly MoT'd and (mechanically/physically) ready for the road!  Smile
But.. now comes the paperwork.   Sad

Anyone got any tips on filling in the DVLA's V55/5 form or have an example or fresh experience of doing so?
It asks for lots of stuff, including many items 'from the Certificate of Conformity'..
Or it asks for an IVA test.  Which I don't think we need to do, do we..?

Lots of this stuff I just don't know, though (HCs or NOx or CO2s, anyone..?) - or is it OK just to leave this stuff blank?

Any guidance gratefully received, an extended period of correspondence with DVLA would be a real ballache..!

Many thanks,

Ivan..

DeLorean Cars Required For BTTF Musical Premier
Posted by: Chris Williams - 12 Jun 2021, 20:29 - Forum: Off topic talk, general chat etc - Replies (10)

I have been asked to see who would be interested in providing a car(s) for the BTTF musical premier on the 13th September 2021 (Covid restrictions allowing)!
The organizers are looking for at least 6 cars to chauffer the opening night very special guests from the Adelphi theatre to a nearby hotel red carpet for an after-show party. It will probably be an all day event to include having your car/s used in promotional photographs with the very special guests (I cant say who at the moment, but I'm sure you can guess). There will be a BTTF car at the event as well. Expenses will be covered and there will be other incentives offered as well.
Please get in touch with me in the first instance, however as you can understand this is not something that you can back out of at the last moment (will be a contract)

  D Wanted for photo-shoot
Posted by: Chris Williams - 12 Jun 2021, 20:16 - Forum: TV/Film Hire and Work Requests - No Replies

DeLorean wanted for photo-shoot W/C 21st June, if interested please get in touch for contact details

Hi Chris,

I’m Jack, the editorial assistant at Absolute Lotus magazine.

I got in contact because we’re looking for a DeLorean DMC-12 for a twin test (with the Tesla Roadster) for an upcoming issue of Absolute Lotus. We’ve secured a Tesla now, but we’re still on the lookout for a DeLorean (we had one secured, but that sadly fell through because of our new chosen location). Due to the Tesla’s lack of range we are looking to do the shoot around the South Downs/Surrey. Might you be able to put me into contact with any local owners that might be interested in having their car featured?

We’re aiming to do the shoot the week beginning the 21st of June. As well as taking photos the journalist will need to drive the car (it’ll be around 20mins for driving impressions) and will be fully insured through us. This will be a main feature, so it will a prominent position on the cover  – also the owner will receive all the professional shots we take on the day as a way of thanks.

Is this something you could help us with?

Many thanks,

Jack

Hi everyone,

Its been a heck of a year for all of us, but things are starting to get back to normal now and we are GO at Carfest

I’m pleased to announce that the Delorean stand has been booked & confirmed for Carfest South 2021 [Image: icon_e_biggrin.gif]
(Interest was low on North & the information was so late this year that we thought it not viable)

As with previous years, we have space now for 7 cars each day (Fri, Sat & Sunday)

Each year this event just gets bigger & better (just ask anyone who’s attended before. it’s like Goodwood Festival of Speed meets Live Aid!) and BEST of all it’s in aid of BBC Children in Need & other Childrens Charities too [Image: clap.gif]

Dates are:

27th -29th August 2021

Further details on the website (PLEASE book through me for MASSIVE club discount!)

https://carfest.org/

As per previous years the Club package offers Car & two persons at a greatly discounted rate to public tickets (which are VERY limited to buy) with options for participant additional family tickets if required.

Okay, the GOOOOOOOOD NEWS...this year its at an amazing rate

1 x Delorean & 2 people is ONLY £52 for the weekend plus camping (if required at £25/night)

Please let me know if you wish to come along and join in the fun

  Delorean prices and condition advice.
Posted by: JT992 - 08 Jun 2021, 22:48 - Forum: DeLorean Cars or Parts For Sale or Wanted - Replies (20)

Hi.

I'm moving towards the position of buying my first Delorean, hopefully at some point this year.

Reading through the forum and contacting PJ Grady and DMC Texas recently, both of which provided great advice, it's been quite the eye opener to see how prices have risen so sharply with even frame rotted cars verging on ridiculous money, notably from the BHCC. I have some idea of what to expect from a car when it comes to the maximum I'd be willing to pay, but any advice from owners would be greatly appreciated on what I'd be dealing with on a budget of around £30,000. I'd be planning on purchasing a car from the states.

Understandably frame and engine condition are major areas to look at, though when it comes to the interior, rips/cracking of the binnacle and seats are something I can live with and rectify over time.

Thanks.
