  DeLorean News, Issue 86
Posted by: Chris Williams - 05 May 2020, 19:23 - Forum: Latest DOC News - Replies (7)

I have just posted mag 86, so with any luck will be with everyone by the weekend. Post is a bit slow at the moment but hopefully will arrive towards the weekend. I know Matt is working on the next one already, but we are getting short on articles. The more we get the quicker we can get them out.

  Fuel Pipe/ Frame Clips
Posted by: Rich Hanlon - 04 May 2020, 21:08 - Forum: 8 - Frame / Body / Interior - Replies (8)

Hi folks, can anybody help me identify the part number or a cross reference to these pipe clips please? This one attaches the steel pipe running from the fuel accumulator to the fuel filter, to the LHS of the frame. I can't seem to find them. Thank you brethren and sistren!

K Jet Metering Head Re-Build service
Posted by: Chris Williams - 30 Apr 2020, 20:56 - Forum: 2 - Emission / Fuel Systems - No Replies

Nothing to do with me but a cheaper option: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/0438100109-De...SwuhZehB9V
or https://k-jet.biz/ same company but not an eBay link, 'MAY' be more helpful to owners on the other side of the world but certainly another option for K-Jet users. About half the price of the UK's specialist's https://www.kmipetrolinjection.co.uk/
I have no info as to how good (or bad) these are but the eBay feedback is very good.

  Architectural Drawing

Managed to grab this off eBay.

Cost me more to frame than it cost but quite pleased with the result.

Its an architectural drawing showing conduits and power to one of the training facilities which looks like its next to the factory.

Rear TAB bush retaining plate bolts.
Posted by: Rich Hanlon - 21 Apr 2020, 00:51 - Forum: 5 - Suspension / Steering - Replies (1)

Hi folks, had to replace the two bolts that hold the TAB retaining plates in as mine are very rusty. These are 10.9 grade, i.e very high strength, and as it turns out not very commonly available in M8 Hex head x30mm, standard pitch.

Anyway a bit of searching has yielded Rover/ Land Rover bolts to FT108301 (various applications) as being a match, in yellow zinc, the only difference being flanged heads. I've found them for £1.70 a pair delivered!

  Passing the time in Quarantine

Hope everyone is doing well during this lockdown, best wishes from me.

Just had this absolutely amazing gift from the mrs to pass the time.
Came with a business card for Barrie Wills, original brochure and 2 leaflets for the delorean museum and the illustrated buyers guide to deloreans.

What is everyone up to during this time?

Again best wishes to everyone and stay safe. Smile

  Floating / Levitating BTTf DeLorean
Posted by: JohnC - 30 Mar 2020, 15:39 - Forum: Back To The Future - Replies (9)

Hi all,

Does anyone want to own up to having one of the floating/levitating BTTF DeLoreans please ?

Amazon Link to floating DeLorean

It's 1/20th scale, but the pictures suggest it's quite nicely detailed, but I'd prefer to hear thoughts from someone who has purchased, and can advise on whether a UK power adapter is an option.

So far, I'm not getting responses from the listed vendors, but that's fair enough it can hardly be considered an essential purchase...

hesitation/popping of the engine at higher RPMs
Posted by: Azar - 30 Mar 2020, 01:52 - Forum: 2 - Emission / Fuel Systems - Replies (1)

Hello from Germany, earlier this year I brought the 05257 in US and the car is currently at DMCH, later will be shipped to Europe.

They have installed a new fuel pump with all the parts. Also did a major maintenance.
I have got two videos:

First is showing the initial startup of the car - it's starting right away and has great fuel pressure coming from the new fuel pump.

The other video shows revving the engine a bit harder, and there is a hesitation/popping of the engine a little bit at higher RPMs (seen at approx. 9, 12, and 14 seconds). The car was sitting for a while and old fuel pump was clogged up with bad petrol. The problem might go away after the next couple of tanks but also might stay. They suggest to rebuild the Fuel Distributor und Warm-up / Control Pressure Regulator.

Do you think this is normal and will go away after some driving or should I get the refurbished parts?

Many thanks for your opinions!

  Auto Gearbox wanted
Posted by: mcmolloy1 - 20 Mar 2020, 20:17 - Forum: 4 - Transmission - Manual & Automatic - Replies (11)

Hello all,
I have to confess that I'm not a DeLorean owner. I'm looking for a 4141 gearbox for a Renault 25.
Failing that, if someone could recommend a good gearbox repair shop in UK or Ireland( I'm in Northern Ireland).

I've been told that the gearbox ran out of oil which caused the damage.

Any help or pointers appreciated,
