  Car Show/festival, Dagenham 27th July 2024
Posted by: Chris Williams - 06 Jul 2024, 15:37 - Forum: London - No Replies

Further to my email below, it would be great if you and your club could take part in this year’s free, family-fun community festival, the One Borough Festival. This event is important to our residents as cost of living is still rising and coming to a free festival brings the community together and classic cars on site is something they all love to see.

I know last year was difficult as a few decided to leave on their own accord causing a safety issue as there were still so many residents on site, however, to eradicate this issue, we will be placing classic cars near an exit and will be managing an easier route, clear of residents, for you to leave at 4pm. We can also help with ULEZ charges, if required.

If you would like to showcase your classic car and club at this event, please complete the attached form.

We hope you can join us to put on a great show for our residents.
Thank you

London Borough of Barking and Dagenham

One borough; one community; No one left behind
From: Summer of Festivals

Subject: RE: Classic cars at Summer of festivals' One Borough festival
Dear all,

It’s engines go as we can finally announce that the One Borough Festival will be the big event for the council this year and takes place on Saturday 27 July between 12pm to 7pm. This one-day festival will include live music, dance performances, family shows, classic cars, and more. You will still see flavours of our popular past Summer of festivals’ events such as the Roundhouse Music Festival and the Steam & Cider Fair. This family fun festival looks to bring around 7,000 festival goers, so it is a great way for you to reach out to a wider audience and showcase your classic car and clubs.

Please find attached vehicle application form to showcase your vehicle at this year’s One Borough Festival on Saturday 27 July at Valence Park. If you are interested in attending, please complete and return by Friday 12 July. Please see note around ULEZ charges in the application form.

We would be grateful if you could share this with other enthusiasts, colleagues, websites, magazines, clubs, and friends so we can make this bigger than before!

Regards,

NEC Classic Car show 2024 8-10th Nov 2024 inc AGM
Posted by: Chris Williams - 01 Jul 2024, 20:17 - Forum: DOC National Events, Car shows, AGM's and others - No Replies

A bit earlier with stand allocation this year so my annual appeal for volunteers to provide cars (and people) to help make the stand one of the best at the show.
For those who have attended before then you probably know the process but cars have to be on the stand on Thursday 7th November (up till 10pm) and can not leave until the show finishes after 5 on the 10th (Sunday) However vehicles  can be on-site till mid-day Monday if this is easier.
We have room for 4 cars again so please help your club out by showing off your pride and joy to a very welcoming and respectful public. Last year we were very fortunate to have more cars offered than space available so if we could be in this position again that would be superb. Clearly free entry tickets for the owners will be provided (within reason) and moderate costs supplied to help offset fuel etc.

Below is a ticket  offer to share with all your classic (and non classic if they need converting)! friends and family

  Another DeLorean Book
Posted by: Chris Williams - 01 Jul 2024, 18:15 - Forum: General Discussions on the DOC / Car / Company / JZD - No Replies

Not from me but from a posting on the website:

Hello,
I’m with book publishers Quarto, with a title coming in September your members will love, and will want to know about, DeLorean: The Rise, Fall, and Second Acts of the DeLorean Motor Company, by Matt Stone.
Matt explores it all: John Z. DeLorean’s rise from General Motors executive, to founding the DeLorean Motor Company; to its 1982 bankruptcy, and the DeLorean car’s subsequent rebirth as pop-culture star in 1985’s film Back to the Future as well as efforts to relaunch the brand in the 21st century.
You can find more details here: https://www.quarto.com/ourbooks/bookinfo...=122461708 and the book is available to pre-order everywhere, including at Waterstones.
I hope you’ll consider covering the book in some fashion and the author is available for a Q+A. I’d love to also discuss other ways we might be able to let your members know about the book!
Sincerely,
Steve

Goodyear eagle 2 tyres - static use only
Posted by: welldoneade - 16 May 2024, 10:07 - Forum: DeLorean Cars or Parts For Sale or Wanted - No Replies

Hi,
Anyone interested in a set of Goodyear Eagle 2 tyres off my car?
These are visually in excellent condition but are all flat spotted due to prolonged incorrect storage.
Once inflated visually ok but cause vibration issues above 10mph, so for static use only.
Free, Buyer collected (Bromley, Kent) or buyer arranged courier collection.
Would need to know asap before the tyre shop disposed of them.
