Posted by: priesh - 30 Aug 2018, 11:15 - Forum: DOC National Events, Car shows, AGM's and others - Replies (18)

Hey all - are there any plans for the club to go back to the NEC Classic Motor Show this year?

Sorry if this has already been brought up - I just got an email about the event so thought I'd post

Cheers!

Hi all,

I’m a new member to the club. Ive been a delorean fan since I was a kid having grown up only a few minutes from the Dunmurry factory. I don’t yet have a Delorean but I do plan on buying one.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to spending some time on the site and getting to know everyone.

  VIN 4400
Posted by: Pikey07 - 26 Aug 2018, 20:27 - Forum: Members Cars - Replies (5)

So I joined the forum a few years ago and spent quite a lot of time just lurking in the background, reading the posts but not getting involved. I then became a paid up member so I could get the magazine and keep an eye out for a potential purchase. In the year that I was an official member I helped out at the Manchester Classic and also the NEC. Got to know Chris Williams and Chris Parnham and felt that my involvement with Deloreans has been greater in the last year of my life than it has the previous 29 years.

So I felt happy enough with how things were going, until I came across the sales ad for VIN 4400 on the Eurotech forum. (Wasn't actually a member, just a google result). Did a bit of background research on the car, found its got quite a lot of history, (as i'm sure a lot of members will be aware of) so I decided now was a good a time as any to finally become an owner and boom, Car Delivered to me the day before my 30th Birthday. I couldn't be happier.

Turns out I live very close to Mr Williams' mother, so he swung by the other day to give it the once over. I'm sure i'll be taking full advantage of his technical knowledge in the future to the point he blocks my number. Big Grin

But yeah that's my story.

Video Speedometer strangeness
Posted by: Emagine - 22 Aug 2018, 13:59 - Forum: 3 - Electrical - Replies (2)

Afternoon all,

Took the Delorean out for a nice drive today, its been a VERY long time since I did that. Anyway, the speedo seems to have developed an interesting quirk.
Check out the video

Anyone got any thoughts on how I go about diagnosing and fixing this one?

Cheers

Hello guys,

I have 2 unused Hella headlamps for sale. they are the UK model, for left hand traffic.
I also have a couple of "flush" bulb holders for the side lights, Durite part number 0-705-12, both brand new

I am looking for 50€ for both headlamps plus shipping, and 5€ for both the flush bulb holders.
I guess I have also some new Philips bulbs for the sidelights which I can include for free.

Feel free to send me a pm

Cheers

New battery but now no power!
Posted by: DeloreanRob1975 - 18 Aug 2018, 14:04 - Forum: 3 - Electrical - Replies (12)

Got a new battery (Yuasa 075 12v 60Ah 620A) last Saturday & the car seemed to be working fine. Came to start it today & there's no power. No 'clicks' or anything. The only thing on is the red door lights. The indicator on the battery says it's ok, so I've no idea whats happened! Anybody any clue what it could be? I'm hoping it's just a fuse or something.
It seems to be one thing after another with this car & I haven't even driven it yet.  Sad

  Custom alternator adjuster
Posted by: SpudMurphy - 15 Aug 2018, 08:40 - Forum: DeLorean Cars or Parts For Sale or Wanted - Replies (4)

I helped this guy - a real petrol head develop a "Turnbuckle" adjuster for the Delorean.
he'd posted on here quite a while back but nothing seems to have come from it.

Restoring #11789 and having the alternator belt on and off many times - fitting exhausts, sensors , wiring ...I got frustrated at trying to tension the alternator then tighten everything up. As I say - done it loads of times.

This bracket makes replacement/tensioning an absolute dream.
I've removed the original bracket , bagged it and will keep it - so please if there are any DeLorean owners who frown on this, the car can easily be returned to stock.

Phil is on E bay and facebook . If you were to price up the components & factor in overheads and it's a fair price.

Xmas is coming - get one in your stocking ?
