For those looking for a UK car to buy
#16
Thanks Mike, I'm hoping it's as nice as it looks (bar the dint in the rear 1/4), just a thought, but having never even been in one, would it be possible for me to have a look at yours? I'm only in Otley so just 10 mins away, as Glasgow is a fair trek to find out I don't like it! Feel free to tell me where to go if you think I'm being a bit cheeky!

First off, cheers for Saturday Mike, was a good eye opener!
I've done some digging myself and all that came up was 1 registered keeper in the UK, and it came over I believe March 2013, (the car check said it was a 2013 model, so I guess that's when it was first registered)

The above is what car clubs are/ should be all about, helping others decide whether or not to go ahead and offering a bit of time and advice to others, was great to read that!!

Hear hear rich, I've been in so many forums where the members do nothing but argue over who knows best, and I look forward to joining the club as a fully fledged member/owner, hopefully in the not too distant future!
What do you mean about the hood having a bit of a X mikeward?

Looks like the hood has a bit of an X going on.

This apparently isn't so much of an issue any more as new techniques have made these x's practically invisible.
A gas flap can be made in an unflapped hood too, I don't know about the grooves though.

Technology today is amazing really.

This is on the other car which was posted. On the back of the bonnet there is an X brace, that X pattern can stand out on some cars, the myth has is that it's to do with folks exerting too much pressure on it.

You can see the X brace in this pic: http://images.gtcarlot.com/pictures/34260499.jpg

A lot of it depends on the light/angle you view it in, but you can make it out in this pic: http://www.crossland.eu/delorean/images/delorean_03.jpg

And somewhat more pronounced: http://www.pjgrady.co.uk/General/Images ... od_X_6.jpg

I know master Nicholson can virtually make them disappear, but then we all know Chris is a wizard with stainless.
Can't say I'm an advocate of cutting a flap into a non flapped hood though, especially on the grooved hoods since those are like rocking horse poo to get hold of.

I see what you mean with the x, it looks dreadful in that last photo!

I think a couple of people have tried to contact the seller but to no avail, I think ChrisP and/or Claire were going to try as well as they are both in France at the moment.
