Time Machine

Guinney1971 Wrote:I'd heard (admittedly from Glen) a couple of years back that Universal were taking a dim
view on all these BTTF conversions, as it was a breach of their copyright or something.

Apparantly everytime a 'Mystery Machine' replica is done, the copyright owners of that
(Warner Bros?) send round the legal team....

This is only what I've heard, it could all be total rot of course Wink

I would have to doubt that would be the case. Us crazy fans are keeping their dreams alive and pockets lined. I've lost count of the people, including family, that I've shown my obsession with and they've gone out and bought the trilogy and other official merchandise. It's FREE advertising for them on a grand scale and to penalise their hardcore fans would be unwise and cruel.

Some of the builders of these cars know Bob Gale and other parties involved (i.e. Universal Studios) very well and sell their conversions for a lot of money, and they acknowledge their work and dedication.

oh I'm not saying I believe it, its just what we were told by the guy
who drove the BTTF conversion (the one that is now at Beaulieu) a
few years ago.

Be great to see some pics of your car when you've got them, and of
course see it in the metal - nice to have a BTTF conversion in this Club
'oop Norf' too, I reckon you'll do well with weddings and stuff - but make
sure to keep the diary free for events!! We'll have you out and about at
shows and events every weekend (weather permitting) over the 'Summer' Wink

Glen talking rubbish, never
None the less great to see so many BTTF cars around, keeps the kids happy and raises the DeLorean profile all the time.
