In this situation, the colur of the cables terminated into those plugs goes a long way to tell a more complete story, if you could share...? :)

So just a quick update before I rush to work. Over the weekend, I changed out the pump for a brand new unit and cleaned all the fuel out of the tank to get rid of any debris and replaced the "?" hose...
