I take it then that the W reg plate was fake that was mounted on your car in one of the photos?

Well not really fake as this is now my registered number plate (which I have kindly allowed the BBC to use for filming Smile )

The origional script called for a Porsche... which was to meet an untimely end by a crash and explosion ... something that is thankfully not now happening Smile

Hey - cool - I've just bought an Allegro to replace my Morris!! Does this mean there's an Allegro in it too? Wazzaaa!

My fleet is getting more publicity than ever!!

(PS - My Allegro is also in Silver with two fat black side stripes - seems to be a recurrent theme of mine!!!)

There were a few V and W plate cars on set , its so funny to see these along side a D, it makes you realise how 'advanced' the car and styling was back then. The comments I had "is this a 1981 car???"

Anorak alert - That's an Allegro 3 with those lights, high number plate, bumpers and wheel trims. In other words, 1979 onwards, therefore too new too new to be on an S-plate...

Yes it was very advanced, and so was the factory!
