How much work is needed on the non runner? Don't think my wife would be happy if I spent that much on a right hand drive!

It's a difficult one to say, looks like the details are just provisional ones so they may list more on what has been done/spent over the next week or so. But clearly all the fuel/hydraulic systems will need a proper going over.

Why do they provide such stupid guide prices...i know just for clickbait.

really gets on my nerves..

the RHD yes well if it catches a couple of bidders then thats more realistic.

but this day and age any D is worth way more than £25k.....maybe £45-50.

i'd want more than £25k for my project....

OUT703 rings bells with me - or the story behind it does.

About a year ago, I was contacted by a guy who's dad was in his
90's, and he wanted to get his DeLorean, that had been in the garage
for ages, running again so he could take him out in it before it was,
in his words "too late". We put him in touch with a local Alpine
specialist who we know, who knows the PRV engines inside out.

They did make contact, but as far as I know, the car never went to
him to be put back on the road.

I can see this one easily topping £30k, it looks really tidy, but who knows
what horrors are lurking after being laid up for 20yrs......

Yes, he's chatted with me a few times, looks like an attempt has been made to get the car running and I guess not successfully. The owner is a very long time club member and his son told me that he loves the car so much and just goes to the garage to sit and admire it so I guess this will be quiet q wrench for him to see it going.

Just found this clip.....I must have seen it before, but its worth viewing again.

Regarding the non-running car. I have bought several non-runners over the years...only one had serious problems, Frenchy....but I bought that in the certain knowledge that Dave Howarth had a brand new engine with my name on it. I needed it!

Most things can be sorted, but its always more difficult  taking over when some-one  else has been 'at it' before.  Most garages wouldn't have a clue....There are plenty of knowable club members who might help out.  Rolleyes

yep, that's the same guy I spoke to, he said about his dad going to the garage to look at the car.

Must be so hard for him to see the car go after all this time.

And then factor in the 15% buyer's premium slapped on top by the auctioneers and it quickly starts to become a very expensive project car!

I wonder if the same coolant has been sitting in the engine for the last 20 years Undecided

Drove my car to the auction at the NEC yesterday.....got my first view of a Bricklin .I wasn't impressed looks big, ungainly yet crampt inside....a DeLorean looks like a sleek Grayhound compared to it.

I must admit, they've never particularly floated my boat either Chris, but it must
have been interesting to compare it with a DeLorean
