pillar trim/screen removal
#1
Hi
i'm about to finally take out the front screen....is it worth doing work on the edge trim pieces, as when i look at the front through the glass, i'm sure i can see the foam backing? of the pillar trim.

i gather these were glued in place. and is there anyway to do it after the new screen, as i'd rather get on with getting the car mot ready than sort this trim piece out.

I just got a windscreen specialist to do it.
Near the bottom corners he had to use long v sharp blades to cut through the sealant without damaging any of the trim.

I think mine were glued on but some earlier ones weren't.

Good luck if you are doing the screen yourself you brave man !

If your pillars do need recovering the time to do it is when the screen is out, you will see how the material is trapped behind the screen on a lot of cars. hard to do with the screen in.

why were not these bits fir tree'd on like a lot of cars?

with all of the other jobs, i don't really fancy doing his now.
