OK, there has been a debate since the DeLorean was first produced.

What engine would suit the DMC-12?

Alex, the car is rear engined making weight distribution a key issue. A V8 / V10 play havoc with the already 32/68 ratio. Your poll should be based around different V6 derivatives...

One of the great things about these cars is the handling. It is easy to make the car go faster. The trick is not to upset the handling....

in my opinin the trick is not to bother its not an esprit and never will be, enjoy them for what they are may i now be struck by lightning

wasn't the PRV (b28f) mean't to be a forward mounted engine anyway? or am i thinking of just the tranny?

That Robert guy from Las Vagas mounted a stock lotus V8 in the back of his Delorean....

It would be interesting to see if he had weight problems or not.

I'm quite sure the car can handle considerably more power than it has, given that it was designed to have more (200bhp wasn't it?). The handling is great and I wouldn't want to interfere with it, but some more power wouldn't go amiss for me.

Actually... I think the D is fine with the PRV V6. Apart from acceleration, I find no problem keeping up with a bunch of hardcore Elises. 8) Bearing in mind the D is 25+ years old!!

I think that goes for most of America :lol: they're not big on twisty roads and roundabouts over there :wink:

You can leave your house and within minutes be legally doing either 60/70mph depending on whether you are driving on a single or dual carriageway. Even in rush hour there are hardly any traffic jams due to fast flowing grid system.
