Cliff Schmucker RIP
#1
I’m not sure if anyone in the UK would have known him, perhaps from previous DeLorean Car Shows or maybe Eurofest, but avid DeLorean owner Cliff Schmucker passed away over the weekend.

Cliff had one of the largest collections of DeLorean memorabilia from the factory and DMCL time, in the world. He had a collection of DeLoreans too, including such notable cars as Johnny Carson’s first car, the 400HP Supra engine conversion, the polished SS frame that was at the last DCS and of course Proto-1, which he bought last summer.

He wasn’t active on any of the forums, but was extremely active in his Ohio owners group, hosting weekly tech sessions at his workshop, providing winter storage for several owners and helping many new owners realize their dreams. He was an integral part of the DCS car shows with Ken K, and I think that one of the prime attractions of holding the next, and final, one in Dayton OH next year was as a showcase for some of Cliff’s finest pieces.

If you have met him, and wish to add any comments, you can go here:

I met Cliff last year at DCS 2012.

Really nice chap, took huge pride in all his cars and stainless improvements (the photos don't do the stainless chassis justice).

He was very willing to talk, and had a huge collection of DMC stuff, and has been previously mentioned was the person TonyI agreed to sell Proto-1 to....to go with his massive paperwork collection which was being sorted and catalogued.

A sad loss indeed.
