where they listed it for $15750.
Blimey, well spotted Dermot. Had not put two and two together. Either 'flipping' it for a profit or moving it on quick. May be the first if they know the market.

Yes, sorry 88, I wasn't having a go. Smile

But i'm a little disappointed that when-ever a 'cheap' car comes up for sale there are usually a load of negative comments immediately flying around, which could put off many potential UK buyers.

To a lot of folk now, with tidy cars making £30k+, buying a 'fixer-upper' may now be their ONLY way into ownership.

Known comments about the cars history are always very useful …fair enough. But in my experience, if the car has a reasonable Chassis frame and is complete, but scruffy and doesn't look as if its been mucked about with, the rest of it is usually do-able by a competent D.I.Y. owner. It's unusual for there to be serious engine / gearbox problems. ( In any case I have a couple of good donor engines and a new Auto box should anyone want one) Sometimes you just have to take a punt…… ( I've done it enough times now and never regretted it with a DeLorean)

It was great to see David ( DMCNI?) in Belfast…..finally driving the car I encouraged him to buy a couple of years ago…. yes its a risk..…but so is life!..

The photo below was one of my riskier buys! But all good now.

When I was looking for an E type, this guy often has Jaguar's listed, He seems to 'Find' an awful lot of cars that have been stood especially E Types, He never seems to do ANY work on them whatsoever, just describing their condition in a VERY ambiguous way, I have rarely seen anything listed by him that he has actually got ' up and running '.
I think he trawls the U.S Adverts on Craigslist ( and other various sites ) buying up all the project cars that he can... He is just a middleman, a chancer, and as far as I know not a mechanic in any way shape or form... that said, if you want to risk it... Go ahead ! you might get lucky.

Yes, would be interesting to 'read' the back story on it. As Dermot pointed out:

where they listed it for $15750.

As always with BHCC, they never say whether it runs or not. And now we have that old chestnut "ran when parked"

Interesting that the ebay lister, presumably the BHCC buyer, has put it straight on ebayUK and not ebayUS

A question ... the above ad says "UK residents pay 5% import tax only!!!"
Isn't there VAT to pay as well?

That probably means there'll be a DeLorean on Fast N Loud (Gas Monkey Garage) in the near future...

Looks a reasonable project to me, a lot of work and some unknowns, but i'd have thought 10-15 K USD would be OK.

it's only 5 vins away from my RHD and very close to the other right handers.
