I'd appreciate any details you want to share, flux3d Smile

I'm waiting on word back from the chap I've been dealing with in regards to some shipping matters. I'm waiting for a telephone number from him so I can call and discuss in person before moving ahead with the sale. I suspect he's delaying me because he'd rather sell locally if he can... but doesn't want to outright 'nix our discussions in-case I'm his best option.

I'm keen on it too, 1981 with grey interior, black side-strip, grooved hood, lots of solid work done on it and it comes with a nice set of extras including original paperwork, car cover and more!

Hopefully it'll come together soon for me as well!

Sounds like a mint car! Like the idea of loads of extras. Shame he wants to deal locally only. Dealing with us international buyers at least means he doesn't have to deal with us turning up in person and kicking the tires! They can just take pics, email, and be there for when the transporter turns up. Sounds like a good deal to me.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I'll also send over those details in a PM as well mate.

Cheers Chris, it's actually my birthday today! Well, as I type this only just. Had a few too many drinks but still can't believe I've actually purchased a DeLorean, a car I've only seen in pictures, is thousands of miles away, and paid thousands for it. Scary and exciting at the same time.

Love it!

I think it's more of a sprayed on underseal, sometimes seen on them (cant remember why, I think a batch were done in the US) Mines the same.

I did wonder if it was an original colour or if it's an after market paint/coating. I know the guy had the wheels stripped and sandblasted, but he didn't mention the frame. Probably is original. Will ask the question.

I know the black paint job will probably not be right in some people's eyes, but doesn't worry me. The main point is the frame looks in good condition. That's the main thing.

I'll have to start a page on my experience of importing and HMRC. I spent over an hour on the phone to them being pass from one department to the next, only to end up speaking to the very same guy I started off with. All that trying to sort out the whole BTI 5% tax on the import of the car.
