Hello all!

Hi everyone,
I'm not currently a DeLorean owner, however I have had my eye out for the right example for a while now. I am very torn about whether to attempt a restoration or if to buy one with only a few bits of work to be done in the 17 - 20k region. I'll probably put out a wanted ad at some point when I decide what I'm after but until then I'm just keen to learn as much as possible about my imminent purchase Smile

Cheers,

K

Hi, with that kind of budget it should buy you a fairly good example, have you had a look at the possibility of buying on Ebay US and importing? Give you a much better choice. Might be worth joining the club as well as most cars are sold through either adverts in the mag or word of mouth through the club.

Cheers

Thanks Chris good to know! Yeah, I have considered buying in the states but wasn't sure about the VAT implications. I know that you used to be able to bring them back in for free as a re-import but I believe that has recently changed?

You may have had a read but this should explain it all for you:
http://www.deloreans.co.uk/importing/index.html with that budget you should get a good car back even including shipping duty/vat

Thanks Chris, I'd checked that page out but I guess I'd confused duty (which is zero) with VAT which obviously isn't Smile
