Engine wanted
#1
Hi all,

have decided to change #2292's engine, as the person we were getting a new pulley
off of now probably cant supply it, as its attached to a whole engine, and it looks like
the whole engine is being sold to someone else.

So............. have you got a running PRV, and would you like me to cross your palms
with beer tokens/coins of the Realm in exchange?

is this any good (assuming the engine runs)? P'raps Martin would be best to advise here
on the differences between the R25 V6 and the PRV in the DeLorean.

Hi Claire, I must have missed something. Why do you need a new engine? Pulley?
Are we talking crankshaft pulley? The pulley nut is "fun" to remove but I found a method that worked quiet well.

If so DMCH has the crankshaft pulley for $282

P.S. I have caught up with the engine forum. Yes DMCH want a big chunk of change for a pulley. If you can wait till July I
am at our pad near Orlando. Get the pulley shipped from DMC Florida or Houston to our house and I'll bring it back for you.

thats a very kind offer Nick, and I may well take you up on that offer if I cant source a
pulley in the UK.

We've been chatting about this today with RichH, and I think we're gonna go down the
route this year of trying to repair the existing engine, and then when we finally get our new
garage built, then we'll look into do a frame off job on 'Flopsy' and maybe replace the engine
then. The engine in my car isnt original, and was fitted in 1990 at around 50,000 miles - no
idea if it was 'new' engine or a second hand one though.
