Front Springs

Dear all,

For those who don't yet know, I have stepped into the market for front lowering springs. Issues with quality and price of other springs led me down the road of having my own made. Stiffer than stock fronts to more closely match the rears, as well as lowering to the correct designed ride height.

good stuff Martin, Just for reference how will these compare in ride height to say ed's springs? About the same??
U still looking at doing the rear anti-roll bar? Only ask as I have that USA style one attached to mine (came with it) that I keep planning on removing as it looks to have far to many joints in it to be much use!

what warranty/guarantee will they have? I've had Chrispy's on my car now for nearly
7 years without any problems, but I'm just thinking ahead to if I ever decide to replace
them (ie when I do a frame separation and clean up all the cruddy bits underneath).

3 year manufacturer warranty against defects, made by Lesjofors, Europe's largest OEM chassis spring manufacturer.

Others have not been so lucky with Chrispy's springs, including the set still on #1458 which are even older than yours. Chris M (I'm sure fully 10% of DeLorean owners are called Chris!) is replacing them.

Mine and Ed's are very similar - his approach of stiffening as well as lowering was definitely the right one.

Sorry Chris, just realised I never replied to you on this!

Yes, we're working on one. It was/is all part of a much larger project where the car isn't likely to be on the road for another year or so - it's the same reason my 4-pot brakes haven't yet seen the light of day. The setup is going on a car I'm currently working on so I can get some miles on it and see for myself how good it is. My beef has always been how much better a GTA corners than a DeLorean and they use a rear ARB. My setup runs through the chassis under the engine in much the same place as on a GTA. In fact I wouldn't be at all surprised if that's why the hole is there in the DeLorean chassis. It should have a single drop link, the same as many production cars.
