I'm pretty damn sure i have seen every episode of top gear since james may joined but i don't think i have heard anything about them test driving a delorean. The only one I have seen was when they had Patrick Kielty's in the studio but they didn't drive that. Unless I have missed an episode?! Big Grin

I saw the picture at the following website - http://www.delorean-hire.co.uk/html/dmc_t_v.html they may just have had one in the studio then. Do you know roughly which series Patrick Kielty's was in?

The episode with Patrick Kielty in became a club event. Claire wrote an in-depth article about it in a recent DOC club magazine. Robin Simpson's DeLorean was used for studio shot as Patrick's car was in Belfast I think.

Another five or so cars came along and most of us can be found on the show in the audience.

I don't think I have missed a single episode of TG since they changed the format and moved the show to Dunsfold Airfield in Guildford. I remember seeing a segment of Driving Passions where Tiff Needell was driving a DeLorean. If Top Gear was driving a DeLorean it would have been a long time ago...

Hi Chris,

The Top Gear one we all went to when Robin's car was in the studio was July 2004, because we all went to 'Classics on the Common' in Harpenden on the way home.

I dont *remember* writing an article for the mag...... anyway, I havent got any old mags to check back on, as Dave kept pretty much everything DeLorean related when we split up - except my D of course!

I remember we were the first there, and there was your car and DGS parked together when Jezza pulled up in his Merc SL, smoking a fag, and said "look, its Michael J Fox!". To which I said to him, "I thought you gave up smoking?" He looked at me, grinned and said "yes, I *did*"

I know a lot of people think Jezza is a bit of a git, but off camera he's totally different to how he is on the telly.

It was a great day out, and I'd love to go again some time.
