There is a link with the Delorean!

Delorean motor cars Dunmurry, change there company cars from Ford to Chrysler late 81 I think.
Managers from different Departments had the Talbot sunbeam.

Maybe that's were they got the idea for the bonnet badge for the 82 Delorean

Hi folks,

Do you recall I was trying to get an '81 Talbot Solara running again a while back?

Well after several Sundays spend unseizing the engine, changing the oil and filter, draining the tank, changing the plugs etc, etc, she finally burst into life this afternoon.

I have put a link to a couple of videos of it that I took with my still camera.

The first video really is the first time the key has been turned to try and start it in 17 years. The speed with which it turns over is incredible when you consider that length of time just sitting there.

Oh, and before anyone comments, I am aware that the exhaust is blowing like hell. I expected it would and it's on the To Do list. Oh, and the water pump sqeaking is on there as well. And the non-functioning reversing lights.

All in all though, not bad for a 17 year slumber.

Enjoy.
