Possible Turbo donor engine/car on Ebay
#1
A possible donor car/engine for a high power turbo conversion, perhaps?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :IT&ih=009

Does not show any engine bay pics, but could be an interesting project for someone if it's the correct engine. A daily run around and then a donor turbo engine Big Grin if it will fit :?
Nothing to do with me BTW, Thanks to Paul for this.

Probably a Renault turbo manifold and turbo bolted to a standard engine and re-mapped, so not reliable or as powerful.

The only "production" 2849 turbo is in the Venturi 260 (like in my avatar) - and Venturi did their own pistons and ECU to adapt a Renault 2458cc engine to achieve this.

I didn't notice the year, to late really I think the very early ones had the correct engines in, then became even fire later on?? Still shows how good these engines are for tuning and the abilty to work on them if you have the know how.

Basically if it looks like a DeLorean engine (with the "donuts") and it's in a Volvo, it's a 2849cc high comp B28E. If it's in a UK Renault, it's a 2664cc 88mm bore. Unless it's in a GTA Atmo in which case it's basically a B28E with carbs (but no injector ports in the heads).

The later EFI 2.8's post 83 IIRC can be found in both Volvo and Renault (recently supplied a r25 engine for an espace, identical) but not really much cop in a DeLorean (comes firmly under the "why bother" heading) and with very few common parts (apart from the block itself). Also the manifolds are different and don't fit in a DeLorean engine bay, so this turbo kit almost certainly won't either.

(BTW my comment above about my avatar is now wrong because I've just changed it!)
