Do any of you have a view/experience of paint removal on painted D's? I am of course assuming that what is under neath the paint is relatively straight - can it really be brought back to a high standard of stainless finish?
I have spoken to Chris at PJ Grady, and he says it can be done - costly of course. But my concern is, that if done, will the finish really be just as good as an original non-painted D?
Thanks
Steve

IF it were me, I'd take all the panels except the bonnet and sent them to Surface Processing in Dudley. The doors will be a headache to complately strip and once everything's back together you wil have to re-brush the whole car but yes, it should look as good as new assuming you don't find damage under the paint

		Thanks for that.
Fortunately the doors have not been painted on the inside, it's just bright red all over the outside.
Good to know that it can be brought back to stock condition though.
Thanks

It's been done a fair few times, usually with nothing bad being found underneath! ChrisP is in the process of removing a thick layer of varnish using paint stripper, probably harder to do paint as it will get into the grain door jams etc a bit more.
Having said that I like painted D's anyway.
