Hi guys and gals

Just wanted to say hello as a newbee to the DeLorean clan.

My new old baby should be winging it's way over the big pond in the next few month's and already I can't wait.

Lot's of new things to learn lots to read and discover about about my new addition.

It's been awhile since I had a car in the garage and I'm busy making plans for a few road trips.

Hope to meet up with some owners in the near future.

welcome Mich,
I too used to be in the NG17 area but recently moved to clay cross where 5222 lives so I'm close by in a sense
Welcome to the team Mich. All the best for your new arrival. Let's all see some nice pics when you get a chance. Smile
Hi Mich

[attachment=1300]Well 4397 is safely at home and tucked up in her garage  Big Grin time to start getting to grips with my new baby, Handbrake first I think living on a hill it wont even hold on a slight slope let alone the hill of my drive  Shock
Let the fun begin.
From what I can see it looks a very tidy car.....Is it running OK?

Dont 'over-think' the hand brake, it could be as simple as tightening the 2 large screws up a turn or two,
Hi Chris

Thanks for the advice on the handbrake Ill get into it at some point I'm sure, Car runs fine engine starts hot or cold at the first turn of the key brakes seem a little wanting could be just lack of road use, outer door seals are toast I'm afraid but other than that most everything else seems to work as it should, lots of minor tidying to do but nothing that seem major. fingers crossed.

Sounds like youve got a "good un"......Well done.
Congratulations Mitch, Looks a very nice car.

The handbrake on these cars is a weak design but can be improved with angled handbrake pads.

Agree with Chris P that it might only be an adjustment needed though...

Think I see you have an auto which is even better for hills, I used to just stick my old auto in Park - job done.

Looks like you've got it just in time for the nice weather too  Cool

Stu
Congrats! Using the car will iron out a few issues. They really like to be used! And the handbrake follow all the advise above!
Chris
Looks a nice car! We're close by to you in NG16, you are welcome to pop over sometime, we've got
#2292 and #6772 here - although neither on the road at the moment.

Hi Claire

He's in very good condition TBF but not without problems and needing a fair bit of TLC not a full resto as I have been warned (by a higher power not to take anymore cars or bikes to pieces)  Dodgy Ok but something fell off and now I have to put it back on right
Big Grin

I used to admire your cars whenever I drove by, Mum used to live just around the corner in Underwood and I always used to go to her house on Friday for fish n chips from just around the corner from yourself.

I would love to pop in one day when these bits that have fell off have been put back on.  Big Grin

Mich
Lol, small world!

You are welcome to pop round any time, just drop me a DM so we can make sure we're in.

My car is in bits and has the body off at the moment, so its probably handy for you to have a nosey
over to see where various bits go.
