Been diagnosing a central lock problem (it's with a Wings-a-loft add on kit that stops the central locking working as soon as it's connected, but that's for another thread!)
and I was told to check a few things including the inertia switch.

When I took a look I discovered that someone had bypassed it by joining the two pink and brown wires together

Looks like mine is an original and I know from research these were subject to a recall and relocation.

So should I get a replacement and try reconnecting it or leave it be, seeing as I have no idea why it was disconnected in the first place.
If I try a replacement is there a cross-match part number? Deloreango want £50 for one!

You need to get that put back to how it should be, Though it looks to be in the factory position. ie; not the recall position. Though cant remember what wires do what but it is a safety critical item and should be fully functional. I would suspect that the switch itself is probably fine (easy enough to check) it's a simple on/off.
As you probably know it shuts off your electric fuel pump in the event of an accident

I've found the service bulletin here: http://www.dmcnews.com/bulletins/SC-06-7.82.html which gives a rough template of where is should be mounted but if someone has a pic of exactly where it should go that would be better!

Of course the switch itself was subject to a recall because some were faulty, new ones are supposed to have a white mark on them according to the bulletin so should I be looking at replacing the switch?

Here are two pictures of my inerta. All Original i guess. Still works fine if you test it.
I haven't found any white marks on it neither.
