Hi. Getting driveshaft seal replaced tomorrow.
Just wanting to check on what is factory spec oil and are there any recommended makes/types.
Cheers.
I replaced my oil last June. I used castrol. 75W90 GL5
You'll need 3.7ltrs of the stuff.

Just seen this post. The Renault box is pretty fussy about the oil. It used to specify Castrol TAF-X. This has since been replaced by Castrol Syntrans Transaxle.
I changed mine and it made a massive improvement in shifting. Second gear used to be tricky but now is as smooth as silk.

Castrol Syntrans Transaxle is GL4...
The owners manual calls for GL5. That is what I based my decision on.

Anyway, based on what I’ve read here and t’interwebs, I’ve bought GL5 75w90. The brand is Comma......
Hopefully ok: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=...2787687354

Yes I've got the same stuff. I haven't changed the oil yet though - on the to do list.
I've used Comma stuff in the past. No complaints from me. Just keep filling the box until the stuff literally starts spilling out the fill hole on the side (about the 3.7ltr mark). Just in case this tip is useful and i'm not trying to teach your grandmother (i don't know people's knowledge or experience base), then ALWAYS make sure you can release the filler hole plug BEFORE undoing the drain hole plug!
Cheers,
Yes I read a few threads suggesting to undo the filler first. Glad I did, because knowing my luck I’d be one of the unlucky ones to cock it up! Lol
Thanks for the info.
