Can somone please tell me the purpose of the "compression sleeve"? Item 13 on the figure below, just behind the nut on the stub axle.

I am replacing rear wheel bearings, and looking at the exploded diagram was wondering if these are ok to be re-used?

Its basically a tapered washer. Yes, you can reuse them.

Thanks mate, just as well as I didn't put them on my order to Ed. I figured that I would have heard them mentioned before!
