Although if one of our resident electronics experts fancies having a go at mine I would gladly pass on a drink to them for there trouble

janvdwouw Wrote:I removed mine annd replaced it with a cluster of LEDs to monitor
some functions as the clock sits too deep to read time from anyway.
But I kept it and replaced it back into my car
when I sold it, else I'd gladly ave sold it...
Here's what my system looked like:
And these are the icons I made:
As my car had a FanZilla you could see the Temp coming
on and the cycling of the fans. With the A/C on too.
The "Alarm" icon was hooked up to my alarm instead of the dull flashing LED
and the "DMC" logo lit whenever the fuelpump was switched on by the RPM-relay.
That last one saved me a whole lot of diagnosing when my car wouldn't start
one day: the relay had burned up, thus no power to the pump = no fuel...
If anyone is interested I could make some rough sketches on how I
made mine, but I will not sell the one I have for sentimental reasons
That looks really an excellent idea, welll thought out and makes perfect use of the space.

Hey Jan,
I am so interested in your design!!! Can you show me the sketches??
At the moment I stuck a battery powered digital clock on top of there... Your idea would be a nice thing to do!
Have you got the exact thing that you made still? I would be interested to purchase from you!

must be a problem in a lot of deloreans mine`s never worked

What I found on mine was the failure is not the clock itself but the illumination. There's a little tiny transistor perched on one of the edges of the board and the solder joints is appalling. i resoldered mine and it's worked ever since.
Sort of.
I never could get the bloody buttons to work, so you just have to remember to plug the battery on at 12:00
