The American version of morning news, Good Morning America on ABC (American Broadcasting Company) did have two DeLoreans on the show. Somehow I didn't see the segments until today because it originally aired on Monday the 27th.

Great little segments! Im not sure I like the plain hood on the new production cars though! EDIT: Sorry that sounded like I was saying it was a new style, I knew the plain hood was the same as 83' builds but what I meant was I thought they would do something different to them, maybe?
To be honest I could not tell the difference from the outside, It is still the DMC 12 from 1981 Smile
yeah, I agree Neal, just watched it, and that looks like a normal '83 spec' car from what I can see.

I'm still not 100% convinced about these 'new' DMC's, if there is 'allegedly' a shortage of nsf wings and driver's torsion bars, then where are the parts coming from to build 25 cars a year - plus still keep the 6000 odd left with parts?

Sorry if I sound a bit sceptical and 'urinating on the pyrotechnics......'
i agree claire, i dont think it will make any difference to the numbers of cars left, once the spares get short, more of the not so good cars will be broken up, so in the end there will be the same ammount of cars any way, if that makes sense :?
TT
Can anyone tell me the Difference beween a 81 car and a 82 car?
yep i got to agree on that one too claire, uummmmm

the later cars are built better apparently, oh and they are a year newer  TT
lol, we spent all day showing people 'production changes' at a show that myself, Phill and Malc & Gay Lomas attended
today in Leicestershire.

Flopsy was there as an 'early vin' - black interior, gas flap hood

Sorbet was a 'mk 2' example - grey interior, pleated hood

Del-Boy was an example of a 'late vin' - Flat hood with bonnet badge

Loads of people were asking us about the new cars that are allegedly
going into production, and Malc and I got chatting to a guy who worked
on various design features in the late 70's, including the binnacles!

Very good Claire
The DELOREAN BADGE on the Bonnet(Hood).

That was the joke when we got the cars over to us at our Department in December 81.
