Hi All,

Just fitted my anti-roll bar bushes and they fitted great when car was still, however after driving one of the bushes slid out of the bracket.

After looking it seems the new poly bushes don't have the small metal bumps to keep it in place as well as the end flanges. See attached photo:



Any body think of a solution?

The only one I can thing of is drilling through the bracket and screwing a screw half way through the poly bush.

Any ideas????

I just had exactly the same problem and was under the car trying to fix them the night before Eurotec!!

I fixed it by making some U-Shaped brackets that fit under the clamps and around the sides of the bushes to hold them in.

You should make close inspection of your lower control arm bushes. Turns out mine have completely had it and are allowing way to much play in the lower arm, probably causing too much tug on the antiroll bar.

Put an OEM bush in until the design has been corrected or an alternative bracket is included.

Personally I wouldn't try and bodge a safety critical item.

The ones you have look like the ones that Ed sells. DPNW supply black ones I believe...

Where did you source the bushes from?

On my screen the bushing looks dark blue.. so its 'Eds', I have fitted DPNW bushings and amongst other things they are black

According to the blurb for the kit you fitted http://www.delorean-parts.com/Merchant2 ... y_Code=510 says:-

Two polyurethane bushings, two custom-made mounting brackets (similar to 108998), two custom-made spacer plates (similar to 106960), and four washers to replaces the soft rubber bushings (100774) that are used to attach the front sway bar to the forward frame crumple tubes.

It looks like the custom brackets supplied 'as above' by DPNW are missing if you order the bushes from ED as it looks like he just sends the bushes?

Has the kit you have installed been compete and faultless since the installation?

I needed to re-do the tracking afterwards but that was to be expected.

Drove to EuroTec and back no problems.

Nick, did you have the custom brackets that seem to be missing from Ed's bushings?

I got the kit at the same time when Mike ordered the kit from DPNW
(DeLorean Parts North West).

Likewise no problems with mine, i have actually checked the DPNW kit i have fitted after EuroTec after RichH's reported problems .

Your not missing anything from Ed that what he supplies ie the blue bushings only.

The kit DPNW supplies is slightly modified on the retaining bracket / strap ( to enable it to fit where the radiator supports kink down ) The new brackets are a gold colour , so to make it 'match' them in I sprayed these black prior to fixing them.

I will take a picture of these fitted when i get home.

I agree with Nick best use the old bushings until the problem with these is resolved.

Having just ordered the kit from DPNW, I have slightly lost the plot on this. Does this mean that the bushings fit all ok with the supplied parts from DPNW? or not :?
Hoping it will fix my steering wheel wobble when braking

The original bushings are black rubber, vulcanised onto metal studs which locate into holes in both the mounting plate and bracket.

The poly bushes that Ed supply do not have the metal studs in the bush. They are designed to fit the standard mounting brackets. Ed does not supply any other components with the bushes unless you order them seperately.

The KIT from DPNW contains brackets, plates and bushes. I have not fitted these myself so cannot comment on their design, but I remember being told that the bushes had the studs in them to stop them sliding out...Mike/Nick?

the older bushings, would these be oem from the states?, or available here

i also need a set.

i would rather have a straight fit, with no mods.

If you buy 25 year old OEM from a vendor they won't last long. The kit DPNW sells as per Mike's photo's looks stock but uses newer materials that look stock but will perform better and last longer...
