I know we've probably left it too late to book anywhere, but is there
any interest in a Midlands Area Xmas meet up this year? I know costs
for many people have meant a squeeze on household budgets, with
rising mortgages, bills, food prices, etc - we've certainly felt it here and
are having to cut back on expenditure.
Do we have a preference on location? Last years venue in Clay Cross near
Chesterfield is no longer a 'Big Jims' steak house. In previous years, we've
been to the 50's Diner near Swadlincote just south of Derby. Or do you fancy
somewhere new?
If people can hit me with some ideas, and a preference for location, then I'll
make some enquiries and see what is available.

Hi Claire, nice idea. Im afraid as usual I'll attend if available but don't book anything around me!
Rich
No probs Rich, I usually wait to hear if Rissy has any plans too before settling on a date,
as I know most years he drives up to Scotland to see family for Xmas.
I’m pretty easy and will go with the flow.
Saying that. This years magical date is Saturday 17th for the big drive up norf.
okay, so ideally we need to look at either the weekend of the 3/4 December, 10/11 December,
or the last weekend in November (26/27).
I think, as we did north Derbyshire last year, I'll bring it further south this year, as I know it was
quite a drive for people like Rissy last year.
I'll do some investigating and post some ideas up.

I've just found out that we (Leanne and I) have a prior engagement on the weekend of the 10th December. So we won't be able to make it that weekend. (Not trying to sway dates, just letting you know)
I'm still trying to get an understanding for the other two proposed weekends. That's this weekend or next weekend!
Cutting it close now!
(Busy time of year for all!)
On the upside. I've only four more working weeks of 2022!
"why do we have to cut these things so damned close"
I've confirmed that this weekend or next weekend are both ok for Leanne and I, but I suspect this is too little notice for most, or even all in all fairness. I don't want to be a hindrance to everyone else meeting up for a Xmas bash closer to the big day, so please go ahead and organise without us as a consideration.
Hi all,
I'll try and sort something this week, but I fear we are probably too late, but hey ho.
I'll post again if I can sort something.
That's just under an hour from us in Rugby, so we could so that. Put us down for the 3rd if that's when it's arranged for, otherwise we'll catch up with peeps in 2023.
I think this is doable for me. Put me down for a space
Yes go on thanks put us down for two, the boys are away at Christmas camp that weekend
okay thats great, I'm just waiting to find out if they can get us in, we're up to 14 now.
