Hi, Now I have obtained a better higher power engine I plan on installing it (duh) And was looking for an idiots guide to removing the engine gearbox unit/reinstalling it. As in best sequence/possible pit falls/ etc etc. Ie; how does the clutch slave come out? Is there a procedure for this written anywhere that I can refer to? (the whole removal procedure) Any one fancy helping out for a few beers/curry. What parts should I have in, Clearly have got all the gaskets that I think I need, new exaust manifold studs are in the new engine, Anything else that springs to mind???
Anyway sorry for the long question but I dont want to get it out and then be stuck awaiting parts
Cheers

Oooh sounds like an interesting project.
What engine have you got planned?

Pity I live so far from you.

NickT.
Nothing to exiting actually.
The main reason for the swap is that I have some "issues" with my existing engine that need to be resolved.
So a standard 'D' block with slightly higer compression pistons, fast cams, volvo dizzy, Sort of a stage 1/2. Unfortunatly I can not afford a new exhaust at the moment but have installed all new studs for the future.

A standard B28E engine from a volvo 260 estate will fit after swapping the sump over etc over.
170hp out of the box with high compression pistons, spark distributor, matching cpr/ fuel distributor etc etc.

Sounds like a bhp project, good luck.
If I can help let me know.
