Hello, I have been one of the forums more silent members but wonder if anyone can offer any assistance......

My car was made in August 1982, under the engine cover there are the usual stickers but one says that the car was distributed by Consolidated International, I have owned the car 10 years and have only just noticed it, does anyone elses car have this? and does anyone know if they are being reproduced anywhere? I am obsessive about originality and cannot see any reproduction stickers from the usual sources.

I have attached a picture.

Thanks,

Tom.
Hi Tom,

I've never seen one before. I had a 1983 car, vin 20049 but never noticed one of theseā€¦but I could have missed it.
What is that metal shield on the back of inlet manifold for, Chris?
Heat shield?
That was a device to avoid water dripping into your throttle spool and freezing up in cold weather. A factory retro-fit.
Can't say that I have noticed that either, but I will in future.

You could post it over at dmctalk.org and you might get more info.

as an aside, and based on your username, I have to ask, is this your car that I posted on the Instagram thread recently?:

Not me I am afraid, the reg on my car is 5 FLX
California Specific for State emission regulations. For Cars sold new in California

I've seen their stickers on other cars, (including my old Porsche that came from California)

I think most De's won't have them as it came into force for new cars from 1983

That must be a very rare sticker indeed Shock
If you're after a repro I can sort one out next week. What's the size?
Mine is a '83 I'll check later,,what vin is yours?
