I will definitely look into them as the glass on these mirrors is somewhat fuzzy, the right mirror goes up and down but not in and out and the left mirror is doing the exact opposite. I have had a lot of trouble with the outer door seals, what glue have you been using as the contact adhesive I have does not stick too well?

i'm sure Martin has a view….but I use black Tiger seal…..or similar….it takes 24 hours to go off…but its there for life then.
I have ordered the mirrors as you suggested. Shipping from Europe is much cheaper than from America . As far as adhesives go, Brands seem to be different all over the world, I have been told to try 3m super trim adhesive, its black, flexible and probably very similar to what you suggested.
It's been a while so a short update is required.
Fitted a new fuel pump pick up pipe, boot, and non return valve.
I always wondered why the door control module was disconnected and today I found out why, whilst doing an upgrade to the DMCNW door lock solenoid kit. The right hand door has no door lock solenoid and also the bellcrank contacts were no where near the proper adjustment. I
Hopefully this is all that's missing or not working.
Well the old door lock module is toast, have checked it out as best I can and only one relay works as it should.
On the good news I have had terrible hot start and even cold start issues. Yesterday I replaced the accumulator .
When taking the old one out it was obvious that it was leaking as fuel gushed out of the barbed end and no fuel is supposed to be in there. If I blocked off the main outlet and blew into the inlet I could hear the leaking air.
So now that's fixed it starts easy when hot and great when cold.
I am so happy!!
Hi David,

great to hear you have sorted out the fuel accumulator/ start problem. When I had similar problem I changed mine and it made no difference, it turned out to be the non return valve on top of the fuel pump.

If you still need one, I think you find that the door lock solenoids are the same as an 80's XJ6, you may be able to pick one up in Oz. :wink:
Thanks Chris but it's the actual module that's toast. I have changed to the wings aloft door lock upgrade but without the door lock control module working I still can't electrically lock or unlock the doors,
The car has sat for 2 days now and started like a dream, even with the cold start injector disconnected . The reason it is disconected is I am sure it's firing for too long and was flooding the engine or firing even though the engine was quite warm. The average daily temp is now in the low 30 degrees C elcius don't it's not needed until at least May next year.
It is great to be slowly working through all the problems.
Had some charging problems but I have had the alternator rebuilt and new diodes, new brushes and new regulator it's all working great. Next on the list is the air conditioning, it's no fun driving a stainless steel box in 37c heat without air conditioning.
I have had the engine checked and tuned by a specialist Volvo guy and I must say it is running so well now.
I have also managed to get hold of a spare space saver wheel as mine was missing. Can't wait for that to arrive from America.

glad you are working your way through the jobs. Your car amply illustrates that 'very low mileage' or rarely used cars, can be far from 'trouble-fee' to get useable and reliable.
The early RHD's can have extra issues to do with door locks, mirror controls etc simply because of the changes from LHD to RHD and for Wooler - Hodec's keenness to use Scotch-locks, rather than solder wire joints properly.

Mind you, Wooler RHD cars are like Rolls-Royce build quality,  compared to early Lotus built Pilot cars!

Thanks for the feedback Chris, the more issues I resolve the less issues I have and working thought them methodically or as I find them doesn't really worry me. It is looking and driving so much better that when I first bought it. It's all just time and money.
Another missing piece is on its way from America! A genuine spare wheel. All I had was a 14" mag wheel off an early toyota. So now I have to get a new tyre for it but I will feel much safer driving it any distance when it's siting under the bonnet.
Nice to have a proper spare David….fortunately Ive never had to use one on a DeLorean and if you had a remove your rear wheel, there is the problem of where to put it! I always keep a couple of the tins of sealing type gunge in the car…just in case.

Well I finally have a working air conditioner . Small leak fixed, evacuated and re gassed. The previous owner has deleted the high pressure fitting for the recharge guage on the compressor and fitted a pressure switch, they also changed the pipes to the condenser to copper. Made it a little more difficult only being able to put the low pressure guage on. Just another thing to sort out later.
A few updates. I have upgraded the alternator as the old Ducellior was just not keeping up. I have also fitted a new A/C fan as the old one had almost seized and was badly out of balance as well. New radiator fans have been purchased and I am yet to fit them.
I am sure that this will also reduce the load on the electrical system.
I still have hesitation when first starting the engine from cold so I have also bought a new control pressure regulator (WUR). this arrived today so I have yet to fit that and see if this fixes the problem.
New front indicators are also to be fitted that arrived last week.
Wow the spend list keeps mounting up!
