Ahhhh, Mr RG! I was going to say I know all about his bits, then I changed it to parts, but both sounded dodgy. Let's just say, the leather straps he provi...... that just sounds even worse!! :lol:
The problem with a rattle can job is the lacquer. If you put several coats of wax over just paint, it lasts much longer and also looks a lot less shiny which is how it should look, IMO.
It had lasted really well, but it started to crack following a slightly chubby groom perching on the front corner for photo and it just got worse from there.
I'm going to try one more repainting with lacquer as I've got loads left over then when that fails I my just paint and polish.
I bough some bumper paint for the black bits so will be interesting to see how that comes out.

Very well put, but extremely annoying isn't it! I had a disrespectful brides maid who tried to squash my bonnet too. Apparently it didn't matter as "it's c@%p anyway"
Some real morons out there..
I resprayed the front and rear panels with aerosols about 8 years ago, using Halfords grey primer (the type for plastic panels) and Rover Gunmetal top coat, finishing with gloss clear lacquer, it turned out well as it wasn't too shiny and in my view doesn't detract from the stainless steel shine. It has cracked slightly in places but nowhere as bad as the featured car.
It still polishes up nice with Autoglim polish, but I like it like that! 8)
Looks OK to me. Well done.
Halfords satin black is great for the black bits by the way,use the grey plastic primer first and and after a month or so use Autoglym Bumper and Trim Gel sparingly and you get a good finish that lasts ages-the rear deck and engine compartment was done this way. 8)

My mixed Alfa Romeo spray paints arrived today, so I have all the clobber but I think i'll wait until spring and it's drier in the garage before I dive in.
