I'm used to working with metal and fibreglass, i could never ever imagine to get that sort of finish with wood.

I really wish I had the patience and the skill to make something like that
I am more impressed with the level of detail and accuracy of the model with every posting
Love the photos, keep 'em coming!

have this order to finish
in meantime back on DMC and starting to work with few tiny wood pieces
pine wood for rear lights and red mahogany for the rest
all pieces in place, quality of image is not great as I'm shooting with my phone, my other camera broke down
there is 3 different wood colors to imitate lights
wood splitters glued individually between wood pieces(lights)
one side sanded down and done, other to go
job done on lights and surrounding area

time to put together rear pure wooden Louvre
putting in place parts for frame
sides for frame in place, all other parts can go in
all in and sanded, time to cut some holes
holes cut and sanded, time to put in some detail
all in place and sanded down
now starting with engine cover, first pieces glued together
sanded down and test fitted
sides added
looking good altogether, need to add few more bits on that engine cover next time

Decided to do some work on fenders to give more look to the car
so shape cut out of pine wood as it is soft, flexible and perfect for the job
glued in place
and sanded
the rest of fenders done as well, looking good, need to shape a bit more when wheels will be in place
next, will try to make wheels now, center pieces will go in sometime after
as I don't have lathe wood turning thing improvising with my DREMEL tool, carving is even done without support stand, everything done by free hand in air with very tiny carving tool
pay attention to wheel, looking good
only 2 turned out well as other two has to be wider and a bit bigger for the back
so, tried to come up with chassis that would be similar to real car. It would be easier to make normal one as for all cars, but felt right to make
one as close as possible to real one....this was my first try
rough plan drawn up
now, this is what I achieved
wasn't happy with it, so destroyed it after 2 days work
this is how first attempt ended
so second attempt, printed out best available real chassis 3d guide
drawn up to match woodie dmc scale and cut out
started with this piece of mahogany block
center piece done
front side part getting ready, few more wood strips glued in for extra strength
front done, end parts needs to go on as well
rear part of chassis coming together
chassis strength parts done, now need to free up some space for it
once tunnel for chassis made under car body, proceeded further detailing chassis at he rear end
made up middle part and other elements, added wheels to see how it looks together
