Yeah, get it on the road as it is, if it was a wreck, then i would have stripped it and fully restored, but its not bad at all, so i'll just get it up and running, and use it as is
it likes its new home
bit of a random thing i also found, looks like car has an engine pre heater that plugs into the mains. anyone else got one on theirs?
Nice to see it in its new home Rob!
a prize to anyone who can name all the cars.
I took the fuel tank today, theres plenty of crud in there, its rock hard black stuff stuck to everything. So tomorrow i'll wash it out, and see if the fuel pump works, and replace the fuel lines. No rust at all where the fuel tank sits
yey
I also took the back end off, and the exhaust, to turn the engine over by hand, the oil was like new, and the engine turned over nice and smoothly with compression.
I drained out the coolant, it looks like it was a heavy mix of coolant, so no rust or crap came out, and the water pump turns over with no grittyness. Only issue was the alternator was seized, so i coated it in Duck oil, and it now spins
Both doors open fully, and close easily with very very good panel gaps.
Looking round the body, i found one dent, where the filler had sunk, which is where the passenger side wing mirror mounts, it must have been smacked and dented the door a little.... so should be ok under the paint.
I never realised it was painted!! Why paint a silver car silver? lol
Well, I know you've got a Paseo, Scimitar SS1, Karmann Ghia, couple of Beetles/Baja's....
Thats right, one Baja bug and one beach buggy tho, meow meow
a couple more pics for your viewing pleasure, i would start a build thread... but i'm not a member :S lol

3 miles from the docks, we stopped for foods
