Interesting car, priced at a start of 16k

not sure its worth £16k though, needs alot of work.

I wonder if this could be a project for Giovanni at the right price?
Interesting ad, I will email the guy and get some other infos... too bad for the gray interiors (I like them to be black), and the car seems probably in worse shape than it appears... However I think I'll check it out just for knowledge. Honestly, it would be fine for me to find the car in Europe, it would cut some expensive procedures...
There must be more than meets the eye here. It's simple enough to make it fit for the UK road, MOTing it and completing the registration, which would help it sell, so I'd ask the question as to why the seller hasn't done this.

Yes it would be a much more attractive proposition to someone if it was road ready, even if not taxed. Perhaps the exhaust leak is putting this off? or simply a lack of time to sort it out. Be nice to see some chassis pics on the ad as well.
There are a good few club members looking for cars at the moment so I'm sure it will find a home soon!

Chris
Does any one live in the Kent area where this car is being sold . It would be great if a club member could have a quick look and give their opinion on it?
We've got people in the Surrey area like Mike Ward who are quite savvy, but
not sure about people with specialist knowledge in Kent itself now.
I asked the seller when it was imported and it was late last year. When asked about the chassis etc and if they knew of any thing wrong with it their reply was " best to ask a mechanic". Fair Repsonse but doesn't fill a buyer with any confidence!!

I would ask them for some pictures of the frame, even shots of the frame without the car being on a lift would be enough to give someone a general idea of the condition.

Tom H VIN 3078 over on the Eurotec forum (not sure if he is a member on here?) lives in the Isle of Sheppey, he might be able to assist if someone is seriously interested in the car.
If someone has the VIN, it might shed more info.
Apparently has a 3.5l engine....

Something doesn't quite smell right with this one. "Best ask a mechanic"? It's your flippin' car, isn't it?!

I don't think there're any DeLorean folk one in Kent these days.
I thought that garage looked both familiar and USAy

It's VIN 5335 and was on ebay a couple of times in Sept/Oct last year in Texas.

We had a thread on DMCtalk wondering if it was a scam or not. Guess it wasn't

It had just had a $4200 bill at DMCH and the ad said that it still needed front tires (sic), exhaust repair, some interior parts and there was a little body panel damage.

Of course all this may well have been fixed since then.

For you old timers, it used to be owned by a gentleman called Rich Acuti, if that rings a bell.

D'you know, I was thinking that!

Strooth, there is indeed a blast from the past! aka "cruznmd" on the DML.
In the ebay you can see some small dings in the panels... and an american car of some description in the background...

I wonder if the seller has any "UK" photos.... just to see if anything else has happened to it since/in shipping etc.

Unless of course it is still on a boat/states side and it isn't actually here yet!
Just for clarity, 5335 was Acuti's car. There was some discussion on whether the car pictured is, in fact, 5335, even though it was listed as such on ebay.com (USA)
