Spoke to my local garage today and had to cancel the HIDs, because they weren't optimistic about getting a UK legal dipped beam pattern out of the US sourced sealed-beam replacement units (with semi-concealed projector optics). Consoled myself by substituting the DLP Northwest remote locking / alarm / door / bonnet release unit, so I will still have something electronic to fiddle with. P.S. I used this comprehensive guide for the LEDs, is the author a member of this forum?

IIRC John Tien over in Hong Kong has HID's, fitted to his 'D' cant tell you any more about the spec's and or legal requirements over there but they do drive on the correct side of the road so it may be worth dropping him a 'PM'
