Hi,
I am currently changing the head gaskets on a Delorean engine.
Does anyone know where to get the 'Camshaft sprocket support tools'
to keep the timing chain tight.
I don't think a Volvo or Renault garage would lend theirs out, but I thought I'd try here first.
Cheers, Stu

I seem to recall mine being held with a screwdriver........ I'll dig the pics out.

Also, have a word with RichH, he did his head gaskets a while back.
to be honest i would take the cover off, if for some reason the tensioner's move you will have to take it off any way. im in the process of rebuilding 2 engines at the mo and would recomend doing it this way to avoid problems, i sounded quite mature then   TT

you feeling alright mate? Shock
yeah sorry claire, but i did say sounded Big Grin TT
I found the tool to do this job at an independant Volvo specialist who had it on his shelf for years. He's also lent it to me for free! Top bloke.
We've done the heads, and the tool saved a lot of time and trouble. Everything is back together, new oil, filter, plugs, leads, fuel lines, gaskets, coolant, etc - and it started straight away and she looks and runs like a new engine.
Still lots to do, but here's a pic so far.
