Me and my dad where talking about John DeLorean and my dad told me he only made the company to steal money from the government, when I pointed out to him that he was in line for a job at GM he told me that it would have "taken him years to get the money he stole if he took the GM job"
Who is right? I am sure you lot know a lot more than me and him.
JZD gained his reputation from his work with GM and turned their Pontiac division round among other things. He worked his way up the ladder with GM and was in a high paid exectuive role before leaving due to clashes with other executives. He done a fair bit of consultancy work before deciding to build his own car. He was a very creative man and as well as the car he had ideas for fictional books amongst other things. These were usually dispersed by his aides.
To answer your question, he was looking for the best deal and the Labour British government at the time offered that before the Conservatives took it away again. He looked in other countries before Northern Ireland.
So technically neither of you are right lol
Ahh, ok, well as long as my dad is wrong I am happy
Thanks!
I recommend these books for your reasearch into the man himself
Delorean- written by JZD and Ted Schwarz
and
Hard Driving- My Years with John Delorean- written by William Haddad
These books will provide you with two sides to the story so you can form your own opinion of what happened
Thanks, I will take a look!
