Hi Guy's,

Talking with most of you at Eurotec, it was nice to receive such positive feedback on my D's restoration. Big Grin Big Grin

To inspire all of you out there I thought I should post some before and after pictures. Big Grin

In this way you'll realise my shiny shiny car was much worse than all of the cars at the weekend before I got my hands on it.

As I said to most of those who'd listen  the interior and dash was terrible, the door panels were ripped and everything was discoloured. Some numpty had tried to Gloss paint the interior, but most ended up on the inside of the windscreen and centre console, as he'd sprayed it without masking up anything. Looks as if he'd sprayed around a nice shagpile dashmat too Shock

The glove box was smashed as the knee roll was missing.

For those who couldn't make it at the weekend, here's a picture just after I'd done the dash and seats, but before the headliner was refitted.

So come on guy's lets see some more before and after pictures on here!

Best Regards

Wow thats brilliant work. Did you re-cover the dash yourself?

I should of taken some before pictures of the alarm wiring in my car when I got it Shock
Hi Dan,

The dash was so far gone, and the cracks were like valley's with raised sides, re covering was not possible without some signs of repair, so I got a new dash panel from Ed at Delorean one.

Eh up Barren! Wink

Honestly matey good work on the D !

And if i may say after sneeking round it when you were not looking I would consider it one of the best in the UK .. that includes all the underside Smile

Credit were credit due after working on mine over the last few years you have spent a lot of time ( and pennies ) on yours.

So come on.. which of your fleet gets you the most positive looks and attention then ??

gulp: Ed at DeLorean 1... serious dashboard money then Smile !
I looked underneath it too. Its like new. Really amazing work!

...just ordered some of Ed Udings SS wheel nuts ..couldn't get those off Barrens car before he left .... Wink
I made the mistake of parking mine next to it!!!! I start the restoration of 2456 tomorrow hopefully. I have only photos from when it was in New York but will take some before I start and as I go. Hoping to have a roadworthy, running car for Mervyns in August. 2835 is waiting to go to the foyer of Dunbar bank in Birmingham followed by a charity event in London in September time. There are far better examples but they did ask lol. I will have it back to complete the bits and pieces needed in October time.

Thanks Dozzzy for the feedback. I'm not used to such great comments as people just walk by and assume you won the lottery, gave the car to a specialist and wrote a big fat cheque, instead of grafting blo*dy hard for years.

As for pennies, I did spend a few on parts but the labour and hard work was all mine.

And the attention is a hard matched thing. But the Delorean is a different breed.

I dedicate all my time to cars and it's great to get a little acknowlegement. Big Grin

That old Rolls that everyone admires was 7 years work, and she's still not finished. I had to make most parts by hand as you cannot just click to "buy now"
This was how I bought her.
This is after, and then I had to hand make the interior.
And after.

So as you can seen Hard Work usually gets up other peoples noses Shock

I've done 20 + cars of all descriptions and would love to post before and after pictures to inspire people. But in 25 years of automotive miracle working most people resent you for just having the finished article. I don't care if its a Skoda or a Bentley if there's passion in what you do it should be recognised.

I'll get off my soap box now!
