as has been discussed on the WhatsApp group and on the Club Facebook Page,
with the help of Dan Willis we are planning an event in the South of England,
centred around the Motor Museum at Beaulieu, and Goodwood Circuit, home of
the Festival of Speed. There are also plans for a scenic drive along the South Coast.

The plan is to arrange this for the end of September.

If you can let us know if you are interested in this event, please let us know so that
Dan can look into suitable hotels and do further planning.
As this is the Club's 30th Anniversary year, it would be nice to get a good turnout at this

Hello all,

as you may have seen earlier by my message on the Whatsapp group, we are keen to move with the times and offer the range and variety of events that will continue to appeal to as many members as possible.

We know that there is no 'one size fits all', and that there is no one thing which will be suitable for all people based on either timing, duration, distance, costs, accommodation, what the plans are for the day etc etc.

The general format of the DOC weekends has been to move around the country (a key pledge), and to offer a generally car/ motoring themed day, as well as a general interest attraction day, to help broaden the overall appeal.

I will shortly be sending out a member survey via Survey Monkey which will anonymise all answers and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to have their say.

Meetings can be anything from local pub trips, regional shows, annual events, road trips - whatever you would like them to be! Not everything will appeal to everyone but the more we offer, the more likely we are to find something or someone nearby, which will get people and motor cars together - after all, using, enjoying and nattering about DeLoreans is what we are all about!

The other things to note is that not everything has to be centralised through a formal meeting or an events committee or anything (I'm not a committee member or anything myself...) - any member is welcome to publicise their own events on here or the Whatsapp group, and try to get some cars and owners together.

Please add your thoughts below!

A bit earlier with stand allocation this year so my annual appeal for volunteers to provide cars (and people) to help make the stand one of the best at the show.
For those who have attended before then you probably know the process but cars have to be on the stand on Thursday 7th November (up till 10pm) and can not leave until the show finishes after 5 on the 10th (Sunday) However vehicles can be on-site till mid-day Monday if this is easier.
We have room for 4 cars again so please help your club out by showing off your pride and joy to a very welcoming and respectful public. Last year we were very fortunate to have more cars offered than space available so if we could be in this position again that would be superb. Clearly free entry tickets for the owners will be provided (within reason) and moderate costs supplied to help offset fuel etc.

Hi all,

excuse the parody name with Eurotech but I thought it'd be a good name for a reboot in our tech days. From the stories I've been told I feel this would be a great mini-event to run as an unofficial gathering in between official events. this is also similar to what gets run in the states that can consist of 2 different clubs

So the reason I'm bringing up a tech event is due to my car needing door alignment, same for Mich. I have been speaking to Miles about getting mine sorted since the NEC and he's willing to come our way and work his magic for anyone in need of door alignment and he'll discount his services if there are a few of us.

I'm putting a list together for anyone else who requires work going via Miles so let me know and hopefully, we can make some kind of event out of this

Hi all,

can I first say a huge thank you to Richard Hanlon for the amazing work he's put into
organising this years DOC_UK meet up and taking on the task of sorting everything out.

We will be based at Malvern in Worcestershire, close to J7 of the M5. The hotel we have
chosen is the Premier Inn, on Townsend Way, Malvern, WR14 1GD Tel: 0333 321 9297.
This has an onsite restaurant and bar, and a free car park. I would suggest you book early
to make sure as many of us as possible get to stay in the same place.
Prices are very reasonable, a double or family room there is currently £87 for the Friday and
£116 for Saturday, so £203 in total (plus breakfast). This is the standard, non refundable rate.
https://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/hotels/...LBC_MALTOW
There are other hotels and B&B's in the area should you need to or wish to book an alternative.

Itinerary:

Friday 8th September.
Arrive at hotel from 5pm onwards, evening meal, drinks in the bar, catch up with people, etc.

Saturday 9th September:
Breakfast, then leave hotel no later then 10.30am for the short drive to the Morgan Factory, where
we will have a factory tour (last tour is 11.30am), followed by a buffet lunch that Morgan will put on for us.
This event is being subsidised for members by the Club to show our appreciation of your continued
support over the years. After we leave Morgan, we will have a scenic drive back to the hotel via
the Malvern Hills, a route often used by Morgan to test their cars. There is also the option of booking a
Morgan Experience Ride at extra cost (terms apply, see Morgan's website for details).
In the evening, we will have dinner in the restaurant, and we are currently in the process of
hopefully arranging a guest speaker to give us a talk after dinner. Then the evening is yours to
spend how you wish.

Sunday 10th September:
Breakfast and check out of hotel. Then its a short 25-30 minute drive to the stunning National Trust
property of Croome which incorporates RAF Defford which is now a museum and visitor centre.
Croome is a recently restored property set in large grounds, which were one of the first gardens designed
by 'Capability' Brown, and over the years has had a range of uses including the headquarters of the Hari
Krishna in the UK. After falling into decline, restoration started in the 1990's. Its now a beautiful site,
with acres of parkland, lakes, walled gardens, the house itself, and the RAF Museum. This is not subsidised,
but if you are National Trust Member, then you do get in for free (walled garden which is privately owned
is £5 extra). https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/w...ire/croome

We really hope as many of you as possible can make it and we will be sending a flyer out in the next week
or so to all members to get the word out.

Please reply on this thread that you are coming, as we need to give numbers to Morgan for catering and tour
purposes. We will also need to let Morgan know about any dietary requirements, like gluten free, vegan, etc.

Once again, can I say a massive thank you to Richard for all his hard work in arranging this weekend event,
and I look forward to it being a success and well supported.

So for those of us at the NEC on the stand when we were approached by someone organising the isle of man festival of motoring? does anyone have a copy of the leaflet he left with us? so i can check all hotels and help sort the event out for those interested.

I have checked out the hotels on offer for the 2023 run of the event and either the hotel in Ramsey or Ballasalla would be the recommended options since they have onsite parking and are easier to get to than those at Douglas as parking regulations on Douglas front are very unusual when I went earlier this year.

Also if we get a choice of either Liverpool or Heysham docks id highly recommend Heysham. it may be a little longer of a drive but its less of a hassle to get to as its out of the way of regular traffic and easy to load onto the ferry as the gradient of the ramp isn't as steep unlike Liverpool.

Im 100% up for a trip like this since we get so many perks like a closed run of the TT mountain road, access to both transport museums and our own spot for a stand.

Hi all,

as we've missed out on a Club meet this year, would we like to do something in 2023?

This year, we were invited back to Silverstone, but it was in late August, clashed with other
events and peoples holidays (including mine), and the upshot was, nothing got organised by
anybody.

In 2010, we had our first 'Lets Rotate the Club Event Round the Country' meet, in response to
many members, who whilst they enjoyed the yearly Norfolk based event, fancied a change of
scenery and also, for those 'oop north' or in the West, somewhere easier and closer to get to.

So, in 2010, we were based near Chirk on the England/Wales border. It was very well attended,
including cars from Holland brought by Mart and Daisy (who were on honeymoon) and Welmoed
Jonker in his black car DeLorean.

We had a scenic drive up the Horseshoe Pass to the Ponderosa Cafe, and also took in a boat ride
on the Llangollen Canal. Other local attractions included Chirk Castle and I think a local steam railway.

A few of us also ended up in a music video being filmed at a transport cafe at the petrol station near
the hotel. Look up 'Rock off and Die' by Dangerous Dave on You Tube, and you'll see 4 DeLoreans at
the end - mine was the fastest lol.

So, my question to you, the membership, is would a revisit to this area be of interest? The Hotel, the
Lord Moreton was comfortable and reasonable, with a good carpark and attached restaurant.
Website here: https://www.moretonpark.co.uk/

I'm thinking September next year, probably around the weekend of 9-10th? That way, school holidays
are over, and it should be quieter in the 'touristy' areas.

as usual, I'm planning the 'East Midlands Area' Xmas meal, but as always,
this is not limited to members in this area.
I know Rissy & Leanne, and Mike Sumner and his partner Zoe can do that day,
Ideally we would like 3 cars on the stand. They have to be in place from the Thursday(11th) until the Sunday PM. We are positioned next to an entry/exit so should be easier at least!
I'm not sure how exactly the show will work with Covid restrictions but as a responsible club we will provide all necessary precautions and will follow the guidelines of the show organizers and Govt guidelines at the time.
Discounted tickets will be available and the discount code will appear in the next couple of club magazines.

Its been a heck of a year for all of us, but things are starting to get back to normal now and we are GO at Carfest

I’m pleased to announce that the Delorean stand has been booked & confirmed for Carfest South 2021
(Interest was low on North & the information was so late this year that we thought it not viable)

As with previous years, we have space now for 7 cars each day (Fri, Sat & Sunday)

Each year this event just gets bigger & better (just ask anyone who’s attended before. it’s like Goodwood Festival of Speed meets Live Aid!) and BEST of all it’s in aid of BBC Children in Need & other Childrens Charities too

Dates are:

27th -29th August 2021

Further details on the website (PLEASE book through me for MASSIVE club discount!)

As per previous years the Club package offers Car & two persons at a greatly discounted rate to public tickets (which are VERY limited to buy) with options for participant additional family tickets if required.

Hi all,

after Covid, associated restrictions, and a change of event by Bicester Heritage scuppered our original plans for a
2021 event, we have revised plans subject to confirmation and final details sorted.

We are now planning on having the event of the weekend of 31 July - 1 August 2021.

The plan, if possible, is to visit Gaydon as previously planned on Saturday 31 July, and still use the Premier Inn at
Bicester as our base for the weekend.

However, we have been invited by Silverstone to be part of their Silverstone Classic Event on Sunday 1 August 2021.
They want to celebrate the DeLorean's 40th anniversary and give us a Club display area, and also let us do a parade
lap of Silverstone Circuit. The cost for this *is* £65 per car and that includes 2 adult passes, Club infield parking, etc.

Now, we know this is expensive, so I have spoken to the Committee, and it has been universally agreed that the Club
will subsidise this to the tune of £20 per DeLorean, so assuming each car has 2 people in it, it will cost you £23.50 for
the Sunday. My previous offer to also subsidise entry to The British Motor Museum at Gaydon stands too.

Please leave it with me to sort things out this week, but I would appreciate feedback from members as to what you think
about taking part in this prestigious event at Silverstone as part of our joint 40th/25th anniversary celebrations.

Hi Everyone,
I hope you've all healthy & safe.

I have had a call from my friends at Brand Events (who organise carfest) the lovely lady who sorts out the vehicle & club displays is trying to put together a "Celebration of Car Clubs" and is looking at holding an event at Bicester Heritage over the weekend 18-20th September
For those who haven't been to Bicester, its an old RAF base which has the majority of buildings occupied by businesses specialising in Classic Car restoration & services, including the Heritage Academy which actively trains & promotes kids wanting to learn traditional automotive skills (and courses for Adults too) The site has many Aircraft hangers that have been converted to classic car storage. The stuff in there is just AMAZING (last time I saw a fellas collection of F40 cars into double figures, with delivery miles on them, plus lots of awesome exotica & famous race cars in storage)
For the ladies, Bicester has an amazing shopping village nearby.

This is just a tentative Post to see who would be interested in coming along, maybe one day or two, to make a nice Delorean display?

What do you think guys?

We will also hold the mandatory AGM over this weekend as well so please accept this as the mandatory notification of this.

Okay, I'm just throwing this out for ideas at the moment, as I think we can safely say that due to CV19, 2020 will be a write off as far as car shows are concerned - I was talking to Chris W earlier, and we are not even sure if the NEC will go ahead in November the way things are.

Anyway, whilst I know that Eurofest is on in May 2021, celebrating 40yrs of the DMC, and it is a big event, 2021 also sees the 25th anniversary of the DOC-UK.

I appreciate many on here will be going to Eurofest, and I don't blame you (I went in 2001 and 2006 and it was amazing), and the cost of doing 2 events in one year may be stretching the finances somewhat, especially after a turbulent and uncertain 2020, but after speaking to Chris we'd like to look into the possibility of having a weekend event later in the year, maybe September, to celebrate our own anniversary in addition to that of the car itself. Plus give people who didn't go to Eurofest a chance to still have a DeLorean weekend with friends old and new.

With that in mind, do people have any preferences on locations and what we'd like to do? In previous years we've been to Dorset, North Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Norfolk, Buckinghamshire/Northamptonshire and Denbighshire. Does anyone want to revisit these locations, or go somewhere new?

For instance, we could do a weekend in Warwickshire around Gaydon and maybe another attraction in the area, or have a scenic drive in the Stratford upon Avon area. Or we could head down to Somerset and go to the Haynes Motor Museum at Sparkford (Yeovil) and another attraction. Or we could go somewhere like Jodrell Bank and see if it fits in with an event at nearby Tatton Park.

I'm open to suggestions. I try to find hotels with decent parking that don't cost a fortune. Last time we stayed at The Green Man at Brackley near Silverstone, which had lovely food, a big carpark and an attached Premier Inn. There's often the opportunity for a bit of a 'tech sesh' over the weekend too, usually on a Saturday late afternoon after we've got back from that days activities. We also run a 'Peoples Choice' competition where you can vote for the car you think is the best, and the winning owner will receive an engraved trophy.

If I can get some feedback, then I can start looking into venues, hotels, etc. Sometimes, if I can guarantee a minimum number of rooms, I can get a deal on a hotel. I managed this with Ravenhall Hotel in 2013 when we stayed at Robin Hood Bay in North Yorkshire.

Being an anniversary event, we'll lay on some special extras for members to commemorate it.
Hey, I might even have #2292 back on the road lol
